Reporting line  
  
Senior Splunk Engineer – Cyber Security is a position within the Global IT Shared Service Centre (GROUP IT) and reports to Security Operations Team Leader.

Global IT Shared Service Centre manages ASSA ABLOYs shared infrastructure, international application, application management, and security globally distributed solutions.

The GROUP IT strategy is that the services we offer are outsourced in a multi-sourcing setup.

You will work as Senior Splunk Engineer – Cyber Security within GROUP IT infrastructure Service Areas in close cooperation with partners, suppliers, and alliances
  
  

Role Description
  
In this role, you will provide operational support for all GROUP IT Infrastructure services globally, managing incidents requests and acting on monitoring alerts in close collaboration with our internal teams and external partners.
 
The role is to understand and suggest improvements of the global GROUP IT services that provide the most value and to be an interaction point driving the solutions forward.

In close partnering with our internal customers and external strategic partners, you will increase the IT infrastructure's quality and efficiency and plan for future growth.

You have an essential role in serving as the point of escalation and collecting feedback and requirements from customers and other stakeholders. You contribute to driving a standard secure infrastructure design and architecture, being compliant with related policies.

Your responsibilities include securing that processes and routines are well defined and documentation being correctly updated.

There will be a GROUP IT team consisting of different skillsets with whom you will work closely within this position.

The position requires interaction with engineers and various levels of management and outside agencies.

You will be working with big data, cloud, and our SIEM tool Splunk on a global level.

 

 

 

Tasks  

  • Interact with a team of internal and external experts to continuously drive and improve security and optimize operation.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor applicable metrics for related operations and provide reports to our customers.  
  • Process, organize, analyze, and assist in contextualizing incident indicators.
  • Support Incident Response by providing analysis of incidents
  • Actively participating in projects related to Cyber Security areas within the organization
  • Assist ASSA ABLOY group with security assessment of newly acquired companies  
  • Analyze collected logs to find potential issues and search ways to improve the infrastructure performance
  • Manage permissions for the toolset used by the Cyber Security
  • Participate in self-development courses within the area of the Cyber Security
  • The candidate should be proficient with onboarding new data into Splunk, analyzing the data, seeing trends, and building dashboards showing anomalies.
  • Configure internal systems and doing diagnose and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Supervise the Operations team.
  • You are helping other teams to monitor performance and different critical values of servers, software, and hardware.
  • Planning and deployment of new applications and other requirements.
  • Update technical documentation and create understanding for the environment for others to understand.

 

 

 Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Splunk operations and maintenance.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Splunk IT Service Intelligence.
  • Ability to script in one more or more computer language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Splunk Administrator Certification.
  • The ability to communicate in the English language verbally and in writing effectively is mandatory.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment  
  • Highly organized, Proactive, Self-motivated, Excellent team player with a positive mindset.  
  • Profound communication skills to build relationships with stakeholders in a global organization

 Preferred Technical skills

  • Splunk Certified Architect Certification.
  • Experience in automating Splunk Deployments with ansible and git.
  • Experience in Linux Environment.
