Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic leader to join our Security Data Platform Engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in data ingestion, curation and analytics to maximize stakeholder value. This leader will also ensure compliance, visibility, and robust analytics across all hyperscalers and on-premises data lakes to safeguard SAP on a global scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Lead the design and development of SIEM and data security solutions that align with stakeholders needs, security data governance standards and compliance requirements.
- Optimize & Automate: Create efficient architecture and deployment strategies leveraging IaC and DevOps practices for automation. Identify and execute optimization opportunities for cost, performance and scalability.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and training to enhance skill sets. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of Data Pipeline and SIEM technologies to provide subject matter expertise and consulting to stakeholders.
- Project Management: Leveraging agile, coordinate projects from conception to execution including migrations to SaaS based services to streamline operations, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met.
- Compliance and Security Standards: Ensure that security solutions meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with the security team to implement necessary precautions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align SIEM strategies with organizational goals.
- Documentation Quality: Ensuring the team produces high quality documentation, including runbooks and self-service guides for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on log management, DevOps, SIEM, and cloud security.
- Proven experience leading security engineering teams.
- Expert knowledge of SIEM platforms (e.g Splunk, ELK, Snowflake, Sumo Logic).
- Knowledge of decentralized data mesh and cloud architecture.
- Advanced experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) including security best practices and tools.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices and regulatory compliance relevant to data protection (e.g. GDPR, SOC, ISO).
- Proven experience running agile teams and following ceremonies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, decision-making and leadership skills.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Security or similar are highly desirable.

Compensation Range Transparency: SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 164700 - 280100(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
