Privacy Officer

Role Description

The Privacy & Data Protection Team provides an effective privacy advisory service to all the Allianz (UK) Group of companies. Working closely with business areas to provide advice and guidance on data protection matters, identify potential data protection risks and monitor compliance with the data protection legislation and Allianz’ internal policies on privacy and data protection.

 

This role follows a hybrid model, requiring attendance at the Guildford office at least one day a week.

 

Salary Information

 

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

About You

 

·  Work to deadlines and business needs within the team with the ability to prioritise

·  Supporting the team and business with Incidents to ascertain risk levels and help identify next steps.

·  Participating in meetings and providing guidance on issues concerning personal data.

· Completing and working through Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs, DPIAs, PEIAs, EIAs) to ensure timescales are met.

·  Attending meetings on behalf of the Privacy and Data protection to support in Data Protection enquiries.

· Providing advice and guidance regarding data protection topics such as personal data breaches and data subject rights including Subject Access Requests.

· Assessing the risk relating to transfer of data to Suppliers and Third Parties

· Providing accurate advice and guidance to the business on all aspects of data protection compliance, including; general insurance purposes, People & Culture, marketing, use of data and analytics.

· Preparing reports for local and general management and the Allianz Group and ICO, as required.

·Support in the rollout of new programmes on OneTrust

·Contribute to education meetings and Webinars on matters relating to Data Protection.

· The successful candidate will be required to develop and maintain an understanding of privacy & data protection legislation and regulation in the UK (e.g. UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations, ePrivacy) and what they mean for Allianz in practice.

 

Essential Skills

 

· Prior experience within a data protection, Compliance, AI or similar role

·  Familiar with applicable legislation, including; EU and UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, PECR.

·  Knowledge of the various lawful bases of processing personal data.

· A good understanding of data subject rights and Privacy impact assessments (PIAs).

·Ability to research and cross-reference data protection and related legislation and best practice in order to formulate appropriate advice and guidance materials.

·  Excellent written and verbal communications skills to communicate effectively with all levels of business stakeholders, data subjects and their representatives, including lawyers.

· Confident in communicating to all levels within the business.

· Enthusiastic "can do" attitude with an autonomous mindset.

· A natural ability to problem solve and work organically when the business/team needs require.
