What You’ll Do
The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IAM solutions that align with business needs and security best practices. This role involves developing IAM policies and procedures, managing user onboarding, offboarding, and transfers, and ensuring seamless integration with IT systems. The IAM Engineer collaborates with IT teams, operational departments, and leadership across Freeman Health System to support secure and efficient user access. They work independently and in teams on projects of varying sizes to ensure effective user management and robust access controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement IAM solutions to ensure secure and appropriate access controls.

  • Develop and maintain IAM policies, procedures, and documentation for compliance.

  • Integrate IAM technologies with existing systems and support their implementation.

  • Manage user lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and role changes.

  • Lead and participate in IAM-related projects of varying scope and complexity.

  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving of access authorizations.

  • Provide training and support to users on IAM tools and best practices.

  • Act as the subject matter expert for Identity Governance and access reconciliation.

  • Troubleshoot IAM tools, workflows, and security issues independently or collaboratively.

  • Support application upgrades and evaluate new IAM technologies and features.

  • Enforce access policies in compliance with Minimum Necessary Rules.

  • Conduct audits and risk assessments to enhance IAM security controls.

  • Monitor and disable dormant accounts and unnecessary access.

  • Develop access and security implementation plans based on operational needs.

  • Maintain detailed documentation for procedures, configurations, and support.

  • Generate reports for analysis and issue resolution related to IAM.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements and automation for IAM tasks.

  • Participate in on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations and security.

  • Demonstrate intermediate competency in leadership, communication, agile/lean practices, and mentoring.

  • Exhibit advanced expertise in Identity Management and technology awareness.

Requirements 

  • A bachelors degree is preferred, but 4 years of relevant experience in the Information Technology field can be considered instead 

  • At least 2 years experience in Identity & Access Management and two years in a system administrator or application analyst role 

  • Demonstrated capability and understanding in user access management and governance  Demonstrated success training and mentoring others on Active Directory and Identity and Access management tools  

  • Demonstrated success using analytical tools and skills for the development of workflows, system configuration and documentation related to identity and access management  

  • Demonstrated success designing and administrating Identity Management and Access  

  • Demonstrated success leading large scale projects and processes 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Certified Identity Management Professional (CIMP), Sailpoint Administrator or Engineer level certifications
