We are seeking a motivated Product Owner/Sr Principal Software Engineer to join the Zumwalt Software Team within the Maritime Systems and Platforms Software Department.  As a Product Owner for the Resources and Compliance product area, you will be responsible for the management and execution of the ZCR backlog for the Zumwalt program.   The ideal candidate is a well-disciplined individual with a proven applicable technical background, who is able to thrive in a dynamic agile environment and is able to work well in a team setting. The ideal candidate will also have experience with complex infrastructure environments and have knowledge of cybersecurity requirements to achieve and maintain compliance of the program’s information systems. You will work primarily onsite in Tewksbury, Massachusetts with some periodic travel to Portsmouth, Rhode Island as part of the Zumwalt Baseline Management Integration & Test Team. 

What You Will Do: 

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Digital Technology (DT), and Global Security Services (Cyber) to develop and effectively manage the product area’s backlog

  • Develop a common process for the program to manage and maintain program infrastructure across multiple sites.

  • Manage the scheduling and execution of maintenance of the program’s multiple information systems, minimizing impact to day-to-day program activities.

  • Work with DT and Cyber to maintain program ATOs for the multiple program information systems.

  • Coordinate with engineering, DT and Cyber to certify and maintain new systems for use by the program.

  • Facilitate the use of Agile methodologies and processes across the ZCR team.

  • This position requires exclusive onsite presence. 

Qualifications You Must Have: 

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of experience.

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining both Unclassified and Classified information systems.

  • Proven experience in maintaining information systems compliance per the Defense Security Service Assessment and Authorization Process Manuel (DAAPM).

  • Experience in a Unix/Linux operating system.

  • Experience with Windows operating systems.

  • Experience providing technical guidance/mentorship to junior engineers.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Active Secret security clearance.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining complex information systems and infrastructure.

  • Experience leading small projects/efforts.

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
