Collins is looking for an experienced and proactive attorney with strong general transactional experience and expertise in the legal issues around Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity to join our dynamic legal team in Enterprise Operations at Collins Aerospace. This role will manage a wide spectrum of matters, including contract negotiations, supply chain support, work transitions, due diligence, antitrust compliance, and strategic legal guidance to support our central Enterprise Operations organization as well as being the subject matter expert on AI and Cybersecurity within Collins legal department. This role demands a strategic thinker with excellent communications and leadership skills, capable of providing practical legal advice to support a fast-paced dynamic team. The following skills will be required in this role:
This individual will ideally work onsite at our Farmington, CT location but remote is a possibility.
What You Will Do:
Coordinate and be a strategic business partner across the broader Collins Aerospace organization and its strategic business units.
Contract drafting and negotiations in the areas of complex commercial agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, licensing agreements, purchasing contracts, and logistical agreements.
Proficiency in conducting due diligence for corporate transactions and work transfers (buy to make and buy to buy)
Dispute resolution skills involving claims and counter-claims.
Ability to assess and mitigate legal risks in transactional, operational, and regulatory contexts.
Subject matter expert on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cybersecurity Law within the Collins Aerospace Corporate Legal, Contracts and Compliance (LCC) organization and advise and counsel Collins and its businesses on all aspects of AI and Cybersecurity Law, as well as provide day-to-day legal support to our Digital Technology and Cybersecurity organizations.
Advising and counseling on compliance with data governance regulations and complex areas of law relating to AI, such as data governance and security, intellectual property, and privacy.
Strategic leadership in the development of Collins-wide AI Governance and Risk Management Framework which will provide legal, compliance and regulatory oversight for all AI projects within Collins.
Negotiating and strategic guidance on supplier and customer contract terms that relate to AI.
Advise and counsel Collins on all aspects of cybersecurity law, focusing on incident response, compliance, and transactions and contracts.
Monitor and help shape cybersecurity laws, regulations, government-wide policies, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification 2.0, and similar, as well as develop and strengthen external relationships with industry and government partners, groups, and regulators.
Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standard work, playbooks, guidance, templates, and other documentation and associated training for legal staff and other employees.
Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% of the time (domestic and international)
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited institution and 5+ years of experience
Admission to the bar of at least 1 US state with the ability to be admitted as In-House Counsel
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
1+ years prior legal experience with AI or Cybersecurity
Prior leadership experience

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
