North Idaho College is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Information Technology/Cybersecurity to join our dynamic faculty on our beautiful campus in Coeur d Alene. In this role, you will provide engaging, hands-on instruction in a variety of IT and cybersecurity courses using in-person, hybrid, and online formats including Zoom and Canvas. You’ll teach 15 credit hours each semester and support students through regular office hours, mentoring, and academic advising.

We’re looking for a knowledgeable and student-focused educator with strong skills in networking, firewall configuration, virtualization, and troubleshooting. A solid understanding of cybersecurity principles - such as confidentiality, integrity, availability (CIA), and advanced persistent threats (APT) - is essential. Experience with Linux system administration, Python programming, and tools such as Wireshark and Security Onion is highly valued. Familiarity with industry certifications like CompTIA Network+ and Security+ is also important, as you’ll help students prepare for credentialing and employment.

Beyond the classroom, you’ll contribute to curriculum development, serve on campus committees, and participate in college and community activities, including student cybersecurity competitions. Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field and five (5) years of full time equivalent recent related experience OR a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field and three (3) years of full-time equivalent recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.

Required License and/or Certifications:
Must achieve related Idaho CTE Postsecondary Limited Occupational Specialist Certification and CompTIA’s Network+ and Security+ certifications within the first 12 months of employment.

Starting pay range: $49,081 - $70,554

This tenure track position has summers off, with pay and benefits spread over 12 months!
