This is an Auckland based hybrid position with three days in the office and two where you can work flexibly. Anchor days in the office are Monday and Thursday.

What is the team culture and environment like?

We are a supportive tīma with a wide range of pūkenga (skills) and experience. We love creative thinkers and problem solvers, and we like sharing what we've done within and outside the tīma.

What projects / work will the candidate be working on now and into the next year?

A fantastic opportunity for someone with pentesting skills to grow and develop, as we start to build out our in-house Offensive Security team. You’ll be conducting penetration testing across a diverse set of applications and platforms, as well as getting into adjacent activities such as controls testing, red/purple teams and advising on security response.

What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?

BNZ is investing heavily in cyber protection capabilities. This brand new tīma is a great place to be if you like to be on the cutting edge of cyber security, develop new skills and shape the future of offensive security activities at BNZ.

What technical skills are REQUIRED for this role?

At least 2 years of pentesting experience, across a range of technologies. We have a diverse range of technology platforms and it’s expected that you’ll have experience in several already. We need a self-starter who isn’t afraid to ask for help, and is equally at home testing a modern cloud stack and a legacy Java app.

What is your favourite thing about working for BNZ?

We have a high level of cyber awareness across the organisation, and a directive from Exec level to enact change. The intra and inter-team collaboration and cooperation is at a high level and we have a track record of delivering positive outcomes.

What attributes will this person display in order to be successful in this role?

This is a broad role with a mix of responsibilities and would suit someone with a combination of skills. Your ability to communicate with your team and stakeholders at all levels is as important as your technical knowledge.
