Description

NexGen Data Systems is looking for an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to work with our Government customer for a new proposal effort.   These positions will  provide Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) hosting to provision environments for Development, System/User Acceptance Testing and Production instances of PIEE enclave applications, data lake analytics and DLA J6 NIPRNet hosted applications within DoD Level 5 approved hosting facilities. These environments will also support acceptance, stress, and load testing to ensure performance tuning which will keep the applications performing at optimum levels. Maximize the full benefits of the cloud and maintain a consistent state of readiness 24x7x365. 


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates the development of new software solutions and transition of existing solutions from monolithic structures to micro-service structure operating within hardened containers. 
  • Works with application development teams to refactor or create solutions that leverage the DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline and tools.
  • Instructs/guides teams through their solution development. Deploys and sustain microservices factory utilizing COTS and open-source solutions.

Requirements

Desired/Required Skills:

  • Five (5) years experience with three (3) years of experience implementing DevSecOps within an AWS cloud environment
  • Must hold an AWS Associate Certification
  • Secret clearance or higher preferred
  • 8140 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications)
  • Configure and manage secured cloud computing architecture such as, along with core infrastructure applications.
  • Responsible for IT management, monitoring tools and best practices.
  • Networking and Secured Cloud Computing Architecture
  • Set up and configure Juniper and/or Transit Gateway, Policies, and Interfaces using the command line.
  • Build AWS infrastructure using GitLab Repos, with Terraform Coding.
  • Linux and Microsoft Server Administration.
  • Active Directory Capability
  • Execute all efforts in a collaborative and Scaled Agile fashion while adhering to government-mandated fixed due dates
  • Work with Agile teams (developers, testers, operators, and other production IT staff to oversee releases and deployments of capability.

  • Foster an agile relationship between software development and IT operations, establish and refine Continuous Integration (CI) and automation (key processes, release schedules, and infrastructure designs) so that the organization can create and release regular updates to products quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Attend and Participate in Periodic Large Scale Agile Planning events.
  • Support standard Agile ritual meetings (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives) as necessary and assist Scrum teams in the execution of Sprints.
