Description

Markon is seeking Information Assurance Specialists to support our NRO client at multiple locations across the US.

Responsibilities

The ideal Information Assurance Specialist will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:

  • Secure, defend, and preserve data, networks, net-centric capabilities, and designated systems.

  • Ensure security controls and measures are properly implemented across systems.

  • Conduct internal defense actions to safeguard IT infrastructure.

  • Administer system access controls and monitor for security incidents.

  • Integrate cybersecurity into all phases of system engineering and acquisition processes.

  • Fulfill designated cybersecurity roles per DoD standards and NRO requirements.

  • Meet DoD Approved Baseline Certifications as defined in DoDI 8570 within 6 months (desired: currently certified).

  • Support and comply with privileged user requirements per DODI 8750 and ND 50-05.

Qualifications

Required:

  • TS/SCI with a Counterintelligence Polygraph (Preferably with this client)
  • High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree required (dependent on level)

  • 2–10+ years of experience in Information Assurance or cybersecurity

  • Familiarity with DoDI 8570 and related IA certification requirements

  • Understanding of cybersecurity integration into systems and acquisition

  • Experience monitoring, defending, and administering secure networks

Desired:

  • Current DoDI 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)

  • Previous experience supporting the NRO or IC cybersecurity environments

  • Knowledge of ND 50-05 privileged user protocols

  • Experience in defensive cyber operations or cyber incident response

Salary Range

USD $140,000.00 - USD $210,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
