We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Research and Innovation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will focus on fundamental exploration aimed at developing new products, services, and disruptive technologies that challenge traditional approaches. 
 

  • Perform research in quantum-safe cryptography, generally
  • Creating secure and efficient primitives for symmetric cryptography used in modern communications
  • Security evaluation of symmetric primitives in the context of the post-quantum migration, e.g.,quantum-aided and classical attacks, side-channel attacks, primitives misuse, and combinations thereof.
  • Creation and improvement of public key schemes relying purely on fast primitives or multi-party computation protocols like MPC-in-the-head (e.g, FAEST), and acceleration of primitives to minimize their impact on post-quantum cryptographic schemes
  • Stay current with the latest research trends, challenge the status quo, and push boundaries of the state-of-the-art
  • Publish research at leading academic and industrial forums, create new intellectual property, and present results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Nokia Bell Labs researchers across the globe and external academic and industrial partners
  • Work with Nokia business units to incubate research into early-stage products or spinouts, transfer knowledge, and act as an adviser 

You have:

  • PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics with a cryptology or quantum algorithmic focus
    experience list
  • Understanding of Fast Cryptographic Primitives (symmetric encryption, hash function, RNG...), Cryptanalysis tools, and Hash-based signature methods
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present research to both academic and industry audiences
  • A self-driven attitude, unwavering commitment to team goals, and enthusiasm for tackling new challenges
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
     

It would be nice if you also had (3 bullets max)

  • Experience with Quantum Cryptanalysis, MPC-in-the-head schemes, Side-Channel Analysis, Low-level implementation
  • Previous Nokia intern or co-op experience
