Job Description

As a valued colleague on our team, you will provide expert advice and guidance to the team regarding the development of data infrastructures and pipelines to capture, integrate, organize, and centralize data while testing and ensuring data is readily accessible and in a usable state, including quality assurance.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE

The Lead AWS Engineer role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Lead a team as the technical thought-leader and primary solutioner for cloud-based applications.

  • Assess customer needs and intended use of requested data in the development of database requirements and support the planning and engineering of enterprise databases.

  • Implement new software technology and coordinate end-to-end tasks across the team.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of database technologies, complex coding languages, and computer system skills in a cloud computing environment.

  • Lead the analysis of new data sources and monitoring of performance, scalability, and security of data.

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 6 years of related experience

  • Skilled in cloud technologies and cloud computing

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent

  • AWS and/or CISSP Certifications

Skills

  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, SQL, and Shell scripting.

  • Proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture and technologies such as S3, Redshift, RDS, Glue (Catalog and ETL), EMR, Lambda, Step Functions, SQS/SNS, and ECS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager among others

  • Experience in one or more of the following software skills: API Gateway, JSON, PARQUET, XML, Docker, Urban Code, Jenkins, GITLab, Terraform

  • Strong experience in data engineering, data warehousing, data security and ETL processes

  • Experience creating and using APIs for developing or programming software

  • Strong SQL Experience

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Good leadership, communication and collaboration skills

  • Ability to drive code reviews with peers and managers to ensure that each increment adheres to original vision as described in the user story and all standard resource libraries and architecture patterns as appropriate

  • Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand

  • 2+ years' AWS cloud-based technology services experience

  • Must be a self-starter and motivated to learn new technologies, skills, and knowledge required by duties and responsibilities in required timeframe

  • Adept at leading resources, and people to ensure successful on schedule project completion

Desired Skills

  • Skilled in performance tuning and working with large data sets

  • Experience with data modeling, data architecture, and data governance

  • Experience in Agile ceremonies and best practices

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
