Summary of the Role
The Cyber Security Project Manager is accountable for the strategic planning, governance, and risk management within the Cyber Security Operations domain. This role translates strategic objectives into actionable initiatives, guiding program development to align with both internal goals and external compliance obligations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership ability, and project management acumen. They will be expected to support operational teams, build collaborative relationships across stakeholders, and lead initiatives that strengthen the security posture.
This role involves establishing governance structures, identifying and mitigating risks, and continuously improving the security program. Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security Operations, the Project Manager will also engage with internal teams and external partners, including regulatory and industry bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and governance for Cyber Security Operations, ensuring alignment with organizational and regulatory frameworks.
Lead risk management efforts, proactively identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.
Drive the continuous development of the cybersecurity program through cross-functional coordination.
Foster effective communication and collaboration within Cyber Security Operations teams.
Oversee and manage complex security initiatives, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
Apply both traditional and agile project management methods to meet program objectives.
Develop and maintain governance frameworks, security policies, and procedural documentation.
Communicate security program status and risks to stakeholders through clear, concise reporting.
Build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders to align on security priorities.
Collaborate with external entities to ensure compliance and the adoption of best practices.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for operational enhancements.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
At least five years of experience in cybersecurity, particularly in security operations, governance, and program management.
Demonstrated leadership in managing complex cybersecurity programs and initiatives.
Strong grasp of risk management and governance in a security operations context.
Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, IBM QRadar, and Palo Alto.
Proficiency in project management platforms like Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Project.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, PRINCE2).
Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into practical, executable plans.
Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and executive-level audiences.
Proven ability to foster teamwork and shared accountability across security and cross-functional teams.
Adaptive and creative thinking to respond to evolving security challenges.
Experience supporting both individual and team development.
Advantageous: experience in automation, metrics analysis, and visualization.
Strong soft skills: leadership, conflict resolution, motivation, adaptability.
Background in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Transportation sectors is a plus.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
