Join the R&D IDEMIA-StarChip group is :

• Working in a “start-up mindset team” part of an R&D of more the 500 people involved with project teams and technical experts for an international player in the semiconductor industry

• Develop, Validate and deliver to the Mobile Operators, Financial Institutions and Identity Business Units the Secure Element product devices (HW and SW) for the Security Market (SIM cards, Banking Payment, Biometric).

Key Missions

​​​​​​​In our Digital, Integration and Verification design team, as Cryptography expert you will lead the improvement of the hardware security of our chip in collaboration with our software team (based in Paris and Pessac) to be deployed for all our products.

As part of the Digital, Integration and Verification design team, you will be responsible for:

• Work in advance on the improvement of the security of our chips starting from the feedback from certification labs
• Integrating/verifying security improvements (PKI, KECCAK, AES, TDES, attack countermeasures, etc…)
• Understanding and follow the evolutions of the attacks
• Understanding standards and system level constraints (Performances, Power consumption, Security)
• Supporting product validation and security certification and debug activities in collaboration with the Software, Quality and Test Engineering, attack teams
• Contributing to the Technology and Design Methodology improvements.
• Within a quality process with all teams: reviewing the Verification, the Validation, the Characterization and the Qualification results.

Profile & Other Information

• Knowledge in Cryptography and post-Quantum Cryptography (AES, TDES, PKI, RNG…)
• Knowledge in certification (CC, FIPs, EMVCo, etc…)
• Master’s Degree in electronic engineering or equivalent degree with specific knowledge of microelectronic devices and related digital circuit design
• At least 8 years of experience in the development of complex digital blocks or SoC embedding a microcontroller and cryptography
• Knowledge of hardware description language (Verilog, System Verilog, VHDL),
• Knowledge of the Digital design basic tools : RTL simulation, Logical synthesis, Static Timing Analysis, Equivalence Checking (Synopsys and CADENCE tools)
• Knowledge of basic communication standards such as ISO7816, ISO14443
• Fluent in English.
