As a Cybersecurity Incident Management Intern, you will help accelerate the standardization of Security Operations Center (SOC) processes by developing and maintaining well-documented workflows. You will also contribute to enhancing threat detection and response capabilities through the optimization and configuration of cybersecurity tools. This role offers hands-on experience in improving incident response efficiency and strengthening the organization's overall security posture.
What you will do
- Assist in implementing SOC processes by documenting and refining workflows, including incident response playbooks, escalation procedures, and reporting mechanisms
- Enhance threat detection and monitoring by tuning SIEM alerts to reduce false positives, analyzing logs, and participating in basic threat hunting to identify security gaps and optimize log ingestion
- Assist in implementing endpoint security tools by supporting the deployment and operationalization of vulnerability management, compliance, and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solutions
- Assist in developing executive summaries and SOC performance dashboards to provide leadership with clear visibility into security operations
- Identify and evaluate opportunities to improve security automation by automating repetitive security tasks.
What you bring
- Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field
- Understanding of cybersecurity operation and incident management
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls)
- Interest in Cybersecurity monitoring and incident response
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
