As a Cyber Security Analyst at ENMAX, you will focus on supporting daily cyber security operations, risk assessments, and vulnerability management. You will work collaboratively with the IT team and the business to identify potential security gaps and provide technical guidance for risk mitigation. You will also be responsible for ensuring new and existing cyber security controls are implemented in accordance with best practices.
Major Responsibilities:
Collaboratively work team members and staff across the IT Operations, Infrastructure and applications support teams to ensure security best practices are implemented.
Contribute to the delivery of security projects and programs enterprise wide.
Act as a key member of the Incident Response team and participate in investigation, containment, and remediation of cyber incidents.
Develop and/or update cyber security operational technical standards, playbooks, and processes.
Support the implementation and maintenance of preventive, detective, and corrective controls across the enterprise for data protection
Monitor and respond to cyber security events, incidents, and requests from triage to resolution.
Review and update cybersecurity defense controls to ensure their effectiveness in providing comprehensive visibility and protection.
Act as the system admin for key security tools such as e-mail security gateways, endpoint detection and response systems, cloud and network security controls, vulnerability scanning systems etc.
Provide operational support and maintenance of cyber security related controls and processes.
Perform ongoing vulnerability assessments, risk-based prioritization and collaborate with system owners and IT team on remediation efforts.
Evaluate the current vulnerabilities management practice and propose improvements to the remediation process through automation.
Develop and maintain documentation for vulnerability management, including procedures and response plans for remediating critical vulnerabilities and emerging threats.
Track vulnerabilities remediation metrics and create compliance reports for leadership and technical teams.
Education:
University degree in information technology or a related field with 4 years related experience or a diploma in information technology or a related field with 6 years related experience
Active cyber security certifications such as: CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, GIAC GSEC, GCED or GCIH highly preferred.
Qualifications & Experience:
4-6 years of experience in IT (networking, systems administration etc.) with at least 3 years in a cyber security role.
Proficient in cloud computing architecture and the implementation of security controls in accordance with industry’s best practices.
Experience in a broad range of security technologies including EDR, IAM solutions, Firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, DNS/DHCP, VPNs, and Network based detection and response (NDR).
Experience with System Information and Event Management (SIEM) architecture, central logging pipelines, event correlation, and security incident management for both on-premises and cloud environments.
In-depth knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and understanding of common vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
Experience with effective methods for remediating vulnerabilities in third-party applications.
Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) security controls for Directory Services, SSO and MFA.
Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) platforms is an asset.
Hands-on experience in investigating and responding to security incidents.
Familiarity with cybersecurity risk management frameworks, including NIST and CIS benchmarks.

Salary: Technical Service Analyst, Level C (Current CUPE 2025 rates)
$106,530.06 - $113,175.79 - $119,841.36 - $126,487.09 - $133,152.66
Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
