Job Description
Bryce Space and Technology is looking for a Security Administration Specialist that supports the development, execution, and oversight of security programs across the AFWERX enterprise. This includes personnel, physical, industrial, and information security efforts to protect classified and sensitive information in a dynamic and non-traditional innovation environment. The incumbent works closely with program teams, contracting, S&T protection staff, and external partners to ensure compliance with Air Force and DoD security standards while enabling mission agility and innovation.
Personnel Security (PERSEC):
- Process and track security clearance investigations, visit requests, and access authorizations.
- Maintain and update Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS), Defense Information System for Security (DISS), and other clearance databases.
- Coordinate with Security Forces, AFOSI, and external agencies to resolve clearance issues or incidents.
Physical and Facility Security:
- Support the development and implementation of physical security plans for AFWERX spaces, labs, and remote locations.
- Conduct or support risk assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with physical security requirements (e.g., AFMAN 31-101).
- Assist in managing access control systems, badge issuance, and visitor protocols.
Industrial and Contract Security:
- Monitor contractor compliance with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) standards.
- Coordinate with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) and Contracting Officers to support facility clearance actions.
- Track and verify DD Form 254s for classified contracts and assist with security clauses in solicitations.
Information and Operational Security (INFOSEC/OPSEC):
- Enforce proper handling and safeguarding of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and classified material.
- Support training, briefings, and awareness efforts related to OPSEC, cybersecurity awareness, and insider threat mitigation.
- Maintain incident reporting procedures and coordinate with appropriate authorities in response to security events.
Security Program Support:
- Maintain comprehensive security documentation, SOPs, and records in accordance with DoD and Air Force guidance.
- Assist in preparing for security inspections, audits, and staff assistance visits.
- Track security training compliance and deliver required briefings (e.g., initial, refresher, debriefings).
Qualifications
Educational Requirements: Associate’s degree
Experience Requirements:
- Active Secret security clearance
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Working knowledge of DoD and Air Force security directives (e.g., DoDM 5200.01 series, AFI 31-101, NISPOM).
- Experience with DISS, e-QIP, and other security systems and portals.
- Familiarity with personnel and physical security processes and forms (e.g., SF-86, DD 254, DD 2875).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, manage sensitive information, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an Air Force, DoD innovation, or R&D environment.
- Familiarity with security considerations in non-traditional or hybrid classified/unclassified environments.
- Security certification (e.g., Security Fundamentals Professional Certification [SFPC] or higher).
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in security studies, criminal justice, or a related field.
Additional Information
Must possess an Active Secret security clearance.
