The Opportunity

This position works out of our Little Canada/St. Paul, MN in the electrophysiology division.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

As the Senior Manager, Cybersecurity, at our Little Canada/St. Paul, MN location, you will play a key role in this fast growing, highly visible group, designing and developing electromechanical medical devices in Abbott’s Electrophysiology medical device division.  In this role, you will provide functional and technical leadership for the Abbott Electrophysiology software engineering team working alongside the Systems Cybersecurity Architect to design and implement secure solutions into our product portfolio.

What You’ll Work On

  • Partners with the cybersecurity architect to plan and implement necessary cybersecurity functionality into the product pipeline
  • Provides project technical oversight to the software cybersecurity team to ensure project work is aligned with the business strategy and teams are using technical best practices to reduce program risk and meet project objectives.
  • Communicates to senior management including technical presentations, status updates, and program reviews, as required. 
  • Works with program managers and other functional managers to create software milestones and ensures the team is on track to meet the program objectives.
  • Understands and implements secure software design practices, performs risk management activities and support implementation of vulnerability updates in EP product software.
  • Acts as a change agent to further secure software cybersecurity practices within the team and broader EP organization
  • Builds a positive team culture; hires, manages, and develops top cybersecurity talent
  • Remains current on developments in Electrophysiology, cybersecurity best practices, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Supports all company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer, Computer Science, IT or other related Engineering
  • 10+ years of increasing responsibility in a high technology research and development environment, with strong technical expertise in Linux-based computer systems and cybersecurity
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a high performing cybersecurity engineering team
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).  Must be able to effectively communicate information succinctly at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross division business unit model
  • Project Management: Strong organizational, planning, and budgeting skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in a regulated medical device space or similar environment
  • Master’s Degree in related engineering field

The base pay for this position is

$127,300.00 – $254,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
