About the role

There is currently a job opening “Cyber Security Operations Engineer” in our Network and Security Department. As a Cyber Security Operations Engineer, you will be assessing security incidents and provide advice and support to improve organization’s cyber security posture as well as respond to cyber threats. You are a perfect match if you’re passionate about cybersecurity, thrive in high-stakes situations, and are ready to take ownership of incident handling, activate appropriate response procedures, and continuously fine-tune Aegean’s cyber-defense systems.

What you will do:

• Conduct daily monitoring, threat detection and incident response
• Coordinate human-based analysis of automatically correlated events
• Provide support to incident responders and take over process incoming warnings, alerts and reports
• Configure SIEM platform and improve correlation rules
• Identify the required logs, files, artefacts to collect from the monitored system
• Configure and tuning cyber-defense solutions
• Categorize events, incidents and vulnerabilities based on relevance, exposure and impact
• Advise affected users on course of action
• Escalate unresolved problems, produce and analyze reports
• Handle incidents, requests and problem tickets from internal users
• Produce and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including procedures and processes relevant to security incidents

You fit, if you cover the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
• 5 years of professional working experience as a Cyber Security Operations Engineer or a similar position
• Fluency in oral and written Greek and English
• Information Security Industry Certifications in Incident handling such as CEH, OSCP, CCNA
• Experience with the following technologies:
• Networking and/or security TCP/IP, IPv4 and IPv6 and OSI layers
• PCs, LAN topologies, routers, hubs, and terminal servers
• Security applications such as IDS, Security Event Management and anomaly detection tools
• VPN technology, trouble ticketing systems/CRM, SIEM platform, IPS and Firewall, DLP, Tenable Security Center
• Unix and Windows operating Systems

• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Communicating effectively in a structured manner, with all stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with a proactive approach
• Problem solving and managing projects in an efficient manner
• Handling confidential information by demonstrating high sense of professionalism
