Summary  

Provide leadership for Network Systems Engineering associated team members.  Must have proven and extensive enterprise systems deployment and support experience across a multi-site enterprise.  Applicants must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads enterprise network team in design, deployment and support expectations for enterprise networking platform on-premise and cloud hosted. 

  • Responsible for assuring all enterprise networks platforms are efficiently architected/designed, deployed, and optimized to ensure future growth and comply with industry and regulatory requirements. 

  • Ensures status reports/logging is digested to accurately capture, evaluate, and optimize enterprise network. 

  • Work closely with 3rd parties, affiliates, and cross functional teams to ensure enterprise and engineering platforms operate efficiently and securely across the enterprise network, private networks, and public internet services. 

  • Solves problems and makes decisions daily relative to network issues.  Ensures that effective representation takes place for the coordination of work processes and projects with other departments and divisions. 

  • Participate in all Mergers & Acquisition (M&A) activities including due diligence, data gathering, and leading integration efforts.  

  • Designs a roadmap for the creation/expansion of existing enterprise network to scale-out through M&A activities while maintaining command, control, compliance of the global enterprise network across all CAE USA sites. 

  • Reviews and enhances IT policy and procedures to ensure all IT platforms are compliant with corporate policies and guidelines with regards to enterprise networking. 

  • Ensure adequate staff/scheduling of Network Engineers for both daily and on-call operations providing 24/7 support for the production enterprise network. 

  • Participate in ongoing optimization and preparation for disaster preparedness including supporting key roles in the Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP). 

  • Provides value by bringing a passion to continually discover ways to improve current processes and suggest new processes to add growing value. 

  • Assists in business analysis to determine and clarify informational requirements and business opportunities. 

  • Maintains a central source of information such as a knowledge base enabling support staff to recover from outages with minimal disruption to expected service levels. 

  • Lifecycle management of all enterprise networking software and hardware.  This includes budgetary responsibility over enterprise networking product evaluation, purchase/upgrades, renewals, and decommission. 

  • Interacts with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for equipment and carrier services. 

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements  

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field and 8+ years related experience or AS degree and 10+ years of related experience 

  • Must possess at least 8 years of experience supporting a complex enterprise networking environment. 

  • Experience with datacenter management, consolidation, IT operations, and M&A activities. 

  • Incumbent must hold one or more of the following: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), VMware Certified Professional Network Virtualization (VCP-NV), CompTIA Network+. 

  • Extensive Experience with the following: 

  • Enterprise Switching/Routing (L2/L3) – Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, Arista 

  • Cisco Edge Routers (ASR, ISR) 

  • Firewall/IPS/IDS (Palo Alto) 

  • VPN (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto) 

  • SDWAN Technologies (SilverPeak, Arista, Palo Alto) 

  • Microsoft Azure Networking Services (VNet, NSG, Azure Firewalls, Traffic Manager, etc.) 

  • Load Balancing Technology (F5, Azure, Cloudflare, Citrix Netscaler) 

  • Infoblox BloxOne DDI (IPAM/DNS/DNS Protection) 

  • DIA & MPLS Carrier Management 

  • Collaboration Technologies with Enterprise Voice (Microsoft Teams) 

  • Network Configuration/Monitoring (PRTG, SolarWinds, Nagios) 

  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role 

Preferred Skills  

  • Security+ and Cloud+ (Or equivalent IA cert) and CompTIA Network+.  

  • CCNP Cloud, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Security Engineer Associate. 

  • Arista Cloud Engineer (ACE) L3-L5.  

  • Significant Experience with DNS/DHCP/NAT/FW Security. 

  • Experience with Cloud Security Appliances and Security Solutions (CASB). 

  • Knowledge and experience working with VMware vSphere and Hyper-V. 

  • Knowledge and experience supporting a Microsoft Windows network. 

Security Responsibilities  

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.   

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.  

 

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.  

 

Work Environment  

  • Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility. 

  • Must be able to work overtime, on and off-shifts as required. 

  • The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues. 

 

Physical Demands  

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   

  • Employees are regularly required to sit, talk or hear, in person, in meetings and by telephone. 

  • Manual dexterity to operate computers or other standard office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. 

  • Able to support rack mounted equipment (up to 7 feet off the ground).
