Position Description

ENSCO, Inc., has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The ISSO will support the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with implementing and maintaining a strong cybersecurity program for existing contracts with the US Space Force. The ISSO will play an integral role in both technical and operational aspects of information system security, contributing across the full life cycle of systems and facility security. This position requires a proactive individual capable of engaging with system developers, engineers, physical security professionals, and government stakeholders to ensure systems and secure environments are designed, built, and maintained in compliance with federal cybersecurity and national security requirements.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Partner with system engineers and developers during all phases of the system development life cycle (SDLC) to integrate security controls, facilitate secure architecture design, and implement application and infrastructure hardening techniques

  • Assist with the planning and implementation of secure workspaces, ensuring IS infrastructure is in compliance with ICD 705 and emanations (TEMPEST) requirements

  • Support the program with guidance on the application of countermeasures and standards and applicable technical specifications in the physical and operational accreditations

  • Support the ISSM in achieving authorization to operate (ATO) for assigned information systems

  • Ensure assigned information systems comply with USG cybersecurity requirements

  • Define, document, and maintain security artifacts for the information system

  • Create and maintain applicable system security documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Certificates to Field (CTF), Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Review and analyze weekly system-level security audits to ensure integrity of approved baselines

  • Conduct continuous monitoring activities on assigned information systems per the approved security plan

  • Provide initial and recurring general and privileged user training for project team members

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a cybersecurity professional supporting classified systems authorized IAW 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), DAAPM, ICD 503, and/or NIST 800-53

  • DoD Approved 8570 IAM Level I or II Certification (Sec+, CASP, CISSP, CISM, etc.) or ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire as a condition of continued employment

  • Experience with vulnerability management and audit collection tools

  • Solid understanding of information system configuration management, security control testing, and maintenance

  • Demonstrable experience maintaining system security artifacts in support of the RMF and A&A process

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to offer experienced guidance to executive staff, customers, and subcontractors

  • Experience preparing for and participating in government security reviews and on-site validation activities

  • Ability to prioritize, follow tasks through to completion, and work with minimal supervision

  • An active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required for which you must be a U.S. citizen

Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience in USAF-sponsored contractor facilities

  • Prior cybersecurity compliance experience

  • Experience with eMASS and Xacta

  • Experience with audit reduction tools, vulnerability scanners, DISA STIGs, SCAP Compliance Checker, and managing POA&Ms

  • Demonstrated knowledge of TEMPEST principles and emanation security mitigation, ICD 503, ICD 705, and associated Technical Specifications (TS), NISPOM, DAAPM, and RMF for DoD and IC systems

Salary Range$87,794.86—$158,112.57 USD
