Wellabe is seeking an IAM (Identity & Access Management) Engineer that is highly involved in the design, development, and implementation of IAM systems and processes. This position is responsible for the technical aspects of creating IAM solutions that integrate with the organization's infrastructure and security needs. The engineer is also responsible for developing more advanced configurations and integrations to ensure secure access control.

Be successful in this role

Someone in this role will:

  • Design and build IAM systems, including architecture planning for scalability and security.
  • Develop and implement role-based access control (RBAC), privilege management, and policies.
  • Integrate IAM solutions with other systems (e.g., cloud platforms, enterprise applications).
  • Automate IAM processes, such as user provisioning and deprovisioning workflows.
  • Conduct security assessments and implementing improvements to IAM processes.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and software development teams on IAM-related initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring IAM systems are compliant with industry regulations and standards.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting for IAM tools and configurations.

Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of IAM protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect).
  • Expertise in IAM tools and technologies (e.g., SailPoint, ForgeRock, Ping Identity).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their IAM capabilities.
  • Programming and scripting experience for automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Strong understanding of security concepts, including Zero Trust, privileged access management (PAM), and least privilege principles.
  • Experience with system integration and API management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, computer science, or related. Combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Industry certifications related to this position a plus. (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, etc.)
  • 8+ years of information technology or related experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience directly related to identity and access management or information security.
