Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) Journeyman

Onsite - Hohenfels, Germany

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Conducts regular security assessments and audits on training devices to identify vulnerabilities, security gaps, and non-compliance with security policies and standards involving both manual inspections and automated tools to scan for vulnerabilities.
  • Performs risk analysis to evaluate the potential impact of identified vulnerabilities on the security and operations of the training devices.
  • Determines the likelihood of a security breach and the potential consequences.
  • Ensures that the security policies, procedures, and standards are properly implemented in all training devices.
  • Prepares for and respond to security incidents involving training devices.
  • Creates and maintains detailed documentation of all security assessments, audits, incidents, and remediation efforts.
  • Prepares and presents reports on the security posture of the training devices to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Stays abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Continuously evaluates and improves the security measures in place for training devices to address evolving security challenges.

 

Degree(s)/Years of Experience: (2 +BA/BS or 1+MA/MS) or (4 +AA) or (6+No Degree).

Certification(s): 8570 DoD Certification

Experience:

  • Experience conducting regular security assessments and audits on training devices to identify vulnerabilities, security gaps, and non-compliance with security policies and standards, using both manual inspections and automated tools to scan for vulnerabilities.
  • Experience performing risk analysis to evaluate the potential impact of identified vulnerabilities on the security and operations of the training devices, determining the likelihood of a security breach and the potential consequences.
  • Experience ensuring that security policies, procedures, and standards are properly implemented in all training devices.
  • Experience preparing for and responding to security incidents involving training devices.
  • Experience creating and maintaining detailed documentation of all security assessments, audits, incidents, and remediation efforts. Experience preparing and presenting reports on the security posture of the training devices to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Experience staying abreast of the latest security threats, trends, and technologies.
  • Experience continuously evaluating and improving the security measures in place for training devices to address evolving security challenges.
