Red River is a leading provider of managed cybersecurity services, managed cloud solutions, IT infrastructure solutions and more.Red River is seeking a Cybersecurity Practice Lead to drive the growth, maturity, and technical vision of our cybersecurity services across Federal, Commercial, and SLED, markets. This leadership role is responsible for advancing Red River’s cybersecurity strategy, building scalable customer solutions, and delivering architectural guidance in alignment with our Technology Solutions(VAR), Managed Services (MSP), and Government Technology Services (SI) business units.
The Cybersecurity Practice Lead acts as a player-coach, blending strategic oversight with hands-on engagement in customer-facing security architecture, OEM alignment, and go-to-market enablement. This individual will lead cybersecurity solutioning for major opportunities—RFPs, RFIs, BOEs, and customer briefings—while partnering across Red River’s engineering, sales, and delivery teams to drive innovation and customer impact.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Practice Development
Define and continuously evolve Red River’s cybersecurity product and services strategy and technology roadmap across cloud, Zero Trust, SASE, XDR, IAM, and GRC domains to increase Red River’s market share in the cyber space.
Collaborate with sales teams, practice area leads and OEM partners to develop competitive offerings, reusable solution accelerators, and market-relevant use cases.
Champion Red River’s security vision externally by representing the firm at customer engagements, industry forums, and partner summits.
Pre-Sales Solutioning & Architecture
Serve as the cybersecurity technical lead on high-value pursuits, driving solution development for RFPs, RFIs, and proactive campaigns.
Engage directly with customers to understand mission/business needs and architect secure, scalable solutions across multi-cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments.
Oversee development of proposals, white papers, level-of-effort estimates, and win themes aligned to customer requirements and Red River’s differentiated capabilities.
Innovation & OEM Alignment
Maintain expert knowledge of security trends, threat landscapes, and leading technologies across platforms such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Microsoft, Zscaler, CrowdStrike, Okta, and others.
Guide OEM strategy and integration into Red River’s Cybersecurity Catalog and multi-vendor Zero Trust labs.
Partner with corporate investment teams to evaluate emerging technologies and shape cybersecurity R&D priorities.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Lead a matrixed team of solution architects, engineers, and SMEs across cybersecurity domains.
Provide coaching, enablement, and strategic guidance to architects supporting Red River’s commercial, public sector, and federal pursuits.
Drive a culture of operational excellence, innovation, and collaboration across the broader engineering and services organization.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure Red River’s solutions and services align with major regulatory frameworks including NIST 800-53, NIST 800-207 (Zero Trust), ISO 27001, FedRAMP, CMMC, HIPAA, and GDPR.
Support customer security assessments, gap analyses, and risk mitigation strategies as a trusted advisor.
Lead the development of security documentation, compliance templates, and customer assurance materials.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
10+ years of experience in IT or cybersecurity roles, including 5+ years in technical leadership, pre-sales, or architecture roles.
Demonstrated experience delivering secure solutions across commercial or public sector markets, including multi-cloud, Zero Trust, endpoint, and GRC domains.
Deep familiarity with security OEMs such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Microsoft, Zscaler, Okta, CrowdStrike, and others.
Experience supporting RFPs, RFIs, white papers, BOEs, and solution architectures in a pre-sales or systems integrator environment.
Active U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong background and experience working with the US Federal Government and DoD
Master’s degree in cybersecurity, systems engineering, or business administration preferred
Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, AZ-500, AWS Security Specialty, TOGAF, or SANS/GIAC credentials.
Familiarity with sales tools, pricing models, and competitive positioning in the cybersecurity marketplace.
Experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed or practice-based structure.
General management skills; ability to represent the financial health of the cyber practice to key company stakeholders.
Travel & Work Conditions
Up to 40% travel to customer sites, OEM events, and Red River locations.
Hybrid work flexibility with options for remote or office-based collaboration.
Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and passport.
