The Industrial Security Specialist is responsible for implementing and maintaining security protocols within an industrial facility, ensuring the protection of sensitive information, classified materials, and physical assets. This role requires a deep understanding of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) guidelines, including the 32 CFR Part 117: National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM), and involves close collaboration with internal teams, government agencies, and subcontractors. Coordination with internal teams and external agencies to administer security protocols related to physical (PHYSEC), industrial (INDSEC), personnel (PERSEC), information (INFOSEC), and communications (COMSEC), and general security is also required.
YOUR IMPACT

- Process and maintain personnel security clearances and Common Access Cards (CACs) using systems such as DISS, NBIS, SWFT and e-APP. Implement process improvements to ensure successful program.
- Track and administer mandatory training, briefings, and clearance investigations.
- Develop and enforce policies for SEAD 3 reporting requirements, foreign travel monitoring, and incident investigations.
- Conducts site audits of all corporate and defense segment locations to ensure security practices are in accordance with policies and procedures outlined by the 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), the segment, and the corporation. Determine mitigation plans for instances of non-compliance.
- Monitor and train on security systems, including access control and surveillance equipment.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training for employees to handle classified and controlled unclassified information and adhere to access procedures.
- Provides trainings and briefings to leaders and other Oshkosh personnel working under each assigned contract/program to ensure compliance with the NISPOM, OPSEC plans, program specific Technology Control Plans, annual security briefings, and other relevant USG and Oshkosh specific procedures.
- Investigate security breaches and information spills and report findings to leadership and government agencies.
- Identify and mitigate security risks through comprehensive assessments.
- Required to respond or assist to emergency situations including after hour/on-call alarms, emergency medical calls, protests, HR terminations or suspension meetings, etc.
- Review contracts and security documents (e.g., DD Form 254) to ensure compliance with government regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, clearances, and compliance status via our internal data management software.
- Prepare reports for internal review and submission to government agencies.
- Attends foreign visits to verify all levels of classified and propriety information remain safe as well as provide entry level Executive Protection for leadership attending these visits.
- Provide counterintelligence support and physical security during all phases of domestic and international trade shows.
- Develop and liaison with government officials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associates degree or its equivalent OR five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain throughout employment a US government SECRET security clearance.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
