Nebraska Medicine, a leader in academic healthcare, seeks a Lead Security Engineer to proactively safeguard our mission-critical systems. This role drives information/cyber security strategies, mentors' junior engineers, and serves as a thought leader within our collaborative, patient-centered culture. The Lead Security Engineer proactively identifies and remedies security issues at Nebraska Medicine. Identifies information/cyber security strategies and solutions to ensure the enterprise maintains a robust information/cyber security posture. Mentor junior engineers and is a security thought leader for the organization. Possesses strong knowledge in multiple domains and provides significant contributions to the Information Security team and to multiple groups throughout Nebraska Medicine. Provides technical leadership and develops solutions to complex business problems and apply appropriate technologies while following security engineering best practices. Participates fully in the planning of the Information Security team's work and constantly seeks opportunities for process improvement. Possesses a deep understanding of at least one specialty for which they are a sought-out resource such as Cloud Security, Network Security, or SIEM, while having an understanding of the application of Information Security in a broad range of technical areas.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of eight years information security management with exposure to infrastructure and system security, public cloud security, network security, vulnerability management and remediation, server management or end user device security required.
- Significant domain expertise in three or more core security domains and secondary specializations, (e.g. infrastructure security, cloud security, network security, threat intelligence, security operations, endpoint security, or identity management) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience combined required (One year of experience equals one year of education).
- Experience with SEIM technology required.
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Information security experience in a large academic healthcare center preferred.
- HIPAA compliance management, GLBA compliance management or PCI compliance management preferred.
- CISSP preferred.
- Sans certifications preferred.
