  • Lead and manage the team responsible for network boundary security operations, including firewall administration, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure remote access solutions
  • Design and implement perimeter security architectures that meet organizational needs and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO, PCI-DSS, HIPAA)
  • Monitor, analyze, and respond to network boundary threats and vulnerabilities in real-time
  • Maintain and configure security appliances such as firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), web proxies, VPN concentrators, and email security gateways
  • Develop and enforce network segmentation and access control policies to reduce risk
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., IT, Cybersecurity, Risk Management) and external vendors to ensure seamless security integration and incident response
  • Perform regular audits and assessments of boundary defense mechanisms and suggest improvements
  • Create and maintain documentation for boundary security configurations, procedures, and incident response plans
  • Train and mentor junior staff on best practices in network perimeter defense and cybersecurity operations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training: 

    • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field required
    • One or more of the following Certifications:
  • CISSP
  • CISM
  • CCNP Security
  • Palo Alto PCNSE
  • Fortinet NSE

Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in network security, at least 2 of which were in a leadership or supervisory role
    • Demonstrable expertise in firewall technologies, network protocols, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems
    • Experience with SIEM tools, network traffic analysis, and packet inspection required
    • Knowledge of security frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST 800-53, CIS Controls, Zero Trust) required
    • Experience working in enterprise or government IT environments
    • Familiarity with automation/scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for network and security operations

Security:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary: $125,000 - 160,000

Salary rates for this position are competitive and commensurate with experience and industry standards. We offer a comprehensive benefits package that may include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement savings options.
