It will involve implementing multiple applications, including the replacement of our meter data management (MDM) and customer service systems (CSS) with a new, Oracle customer information system (CIS) called customer to meter (C2M). Additionally, it includes implementing a cloud data platform (CDP), customer experience (CX) and commercial engagement platform (CEP).
The new platform, being rolled out to Alabama Power, Georgia Power and Mississippi Power, will be implemented in phases through 2026. This position will oversee application security for the ASCEND program, covering C2M, Service Cloud, and CDP. Key responsibilities include understanding and integrating security builds, including Cool Compliance integrations, to support these solutions effectively.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- BS or BA degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience designing application security for both technical and functional teams
- Experience in technology strategy and planning, business relationship management, business analysis and consulting
- Experience leading and managing work across multiple teams
- Experience utilizing and enhancing technology business processes
- Experience communicating at all levels of management; and presenting ideas concisely
- Strong technical background as well as business knowledge
- Demonstrated ability to think and plan strategically; exhibit breadth in vision and innovative thinking, ability to generate strategic deliverables
- Strong track record of seasoned judgement and decision-making
- Ability to build, maintain, and influence relationships at all levels and across all organizations – both business and technology
- Ability to prioritize and deal with multiple priorities
- Flexible, can work under stress with changing direction and with minimal supervision
- Proven track record of achieving results individually, and working through others
- Strong people skills that have resulted in successful working relationships with customers, peers, and internal and external business partners

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with business units to identify their security requirements for the ASCEND application(s) and translate those into technical guidelines for application security development.
- Understand the ASCEND solutions from both technological and business process perspectives.
- Design, build, and maintain an integrated security pathway between C2M, Service Cloud, CDP, and Cool Compliance.
- Coordinate planned activities across relevant workstreams to ensure timely completion.
- Act as the subject matter expert in security and access management for the ASCEND application suite.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional meetings to represent the application security aspect of the ASCEND Program.
