ECS is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist for the USNS Mercy, San Diego CA.

Candidate's primary function is performing vulnerability management and exploit analysis of the Unclassified and Classified networks aboard the Command.

Secondary tasks include maintaining, managing, and updating Trellix ePO on the ship along with scanning the systems for vulnerabilities, using DISA ACAS, and pushing updates and patches for RHEL, Microsoft, and 3rd Party Products.

This technician would also join in as needed and assist with network/server duties as required to support the Mission. Prior experience with Cisco devices, Palo Alto devices, and Microsoft/Linux servers a plus. Candidate must have an understanding of Healthcare Informatics, HIPAA compliance and FDA regulatory requirements, and enterprise systems as it applies to Cybersecurity implementation and sustainment.

 

This position is on a Hospital Ship that does deploy and is sometimes required to drydock in an alternate location.

At times, these deployments and drydock times are as long as 6 months.

Depending on emerging situations, deployments can also happen (albeit rarely) with little notice.

Therefore, candidates must be willing and able to deploy for lengthy periods with short notice in response to emergencies.

 

Salary Range: $107,500-$115,500

Qualifications

At least six (6) years of experience in the support of the prevention of damage to, protection of, and restoration or computers, electronic communications systems, electronic communications services, wire communication, and electronic communication to ensure data availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and nonrepudiation.

Must be a US Citizen per contract & fluent in English.

Must be able to lift and carry loads of 50lbs or more and climb steep ladders and staircases.

Must possess a valid U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.

Must have or obtain a non-diplomatic United States Passport with at least one year remaining before expiration, as this contract will require personnel to embark USNS MERCY for time at sea in foreign waters. (This can be obtained after hire within 30 days.)
