Responsibilities

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Chief to lead and manage all aspects of information technology (IT) infrastructure, operations, and security for the directorate. The IT Chief will be responsible for ensuring the reliable, secure, and efficient delivery of IT services to support the development, deployment, and sustainment of critical software systems for the United States Air Force. This is a critical leadership role that requires a deep understanding of modern IT practices, cybersecurity principles, and agile software development methodologies. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a proven leader with a passion for innovation and a commitment to supporting the warfighter.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Management:
• Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, and help desk personnel.
• Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with the directorate's mission and objectives.
• Manage the IT budget and ensure the effective allocation of resources.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the IT organization.
• Mentor and develop IT staff, providing opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
• Represent the directorate's IT interests in meetings with senior leadership, other government agencies, and industry partners.
• IT Infrastructure and Operations:
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the directorate's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud services.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT systems and services.
• Manage the IT help desk and provide timely and effective support to users.
• Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for IT services and equipment.
• Agile and DevSecOps Support:
• Support agile software development teams by providing the necessary IT infrastructure, tools, and services.
• Promote the adoption of DevSecOps practices to automate software delivery and improve efficiency.
• Work closely with software developers to ensure that IT systems are optimized for performance and scalability.
• Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Ensure that IT systems are compliant with security and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Mandatory:
• U.S. Citizenship
• Must have a Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure, operations, and security.
• Experience with agile software development methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Knowledge of DoD and Air Force IT policies and regulations.
• Preferred:
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
• Experience working in a government or military environment.
• Experience with DevSecOps
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
