About the workplace

As Senior Manager, Corporate Security, you play a critical leadership role in safeguarding Vancity’s people, property, and information. This position is responsible for overseeing the organization’s physical security and internal threat risk programs, ensuring a proactive and strategic approach to protection. By developing and implementing robust policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies, the Senior Manager helps create a secure environment for employees, members, and assets across all Vancity locations.

This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. This role may require you to be in-office at least once a week.

A typical day would involve:

  • Assess and manage physical security risks across all branch locations. Develop strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Assess and manage internal threats in a proactive manner with a focus on prevention and early detection.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate and resolve vulnerabilities and identified risks.
  • Create and implement physical security and internal threat prevention policies and procedures in alignment with Vancity's corporate security mandate.
  • Leads, coordinates, and conducts internal investigations
  • Promotes security awareness across the organization through training session and presentations and works closely with business continuity management and emergency response teams and external security partners

You have:

  • An undergraduate degree or diploma in criminology, business law and/or related training and experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in managing and leading physical security across multi-site operations, including financial institutions or other highly regulated environments.
  • 5-7 years experience in managing and leading internal threats investigations
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Fraud Specialist (CAFS), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in internal threat mitigation and proactive risk assessment.

  • A problem solver – you have an analytical mind and can multi-task to come up with multiple solutions to solve complex issues and then are able to apply the best solution given each unique situation. 
  • Analytical – to check documents for accuracy and completion
  • Tech-savvy – you are a quick learner and great with technology & systems
  • Entrepreneurial – you take initiative, ownership and accountability over your work and drive work forward with limited supervision and support

The salary range for this role is $102,200 to $153,200 annually. Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
