Job Description

ADGA is hiring a Senior OSINT R&D Analyst to work on and support The Tactical Cyber Capability (TCC) Project for our defence clients. The TCC Project aims to acquire, develop, and integrate a range of cyber capabilities including people, infrastructure, processes, and technology to enable CAF operations across the full spectrum of activities.

The capability mix of the TCC Project will comprise both platform-delivered (e.g., airborne, seaborne, vehicle-borne, dismounted) and network-delivered cyber capabilities. To support training, planning, and mission rehearsal activities, the project will develop capability models within the Cyber Training Area, which will be delivered through the Cyber 004 – Cyber Operations Training Eco-System

The Senior OSINT R&D Analyst will be responsible for identifying and analyzing threats through Publicly Available Information (PAI) and Open Sources all at various security caveats. Conducts advanced analysis of collection and open-source data to ensure target continuity; to profile targets and their activities; and develop techniques to gain more target information.

 

Tasks:

  • Assess target vulnerabilities and/or operational capabilities to determine course of action;
  • Provide input to the identification of cyber-related success criteria;
  • Contribute to crisis action planning for cyber operations;
  • Coordinate with intelligence and cyber defence partners to obtain relevant essential information;
  • Determine indicators (e.g. measures of effectiveness) that are best suited to specific cyber operation objectives based on open source intelligence;
  • Develop and maintain deliberate and/or crisis plans;
  • Devise, document and validate cyber operation strategy and planning documents;
  • Ensure that open-source intelligence planning activities are integrated and synchronized with operational planning timelines;
  • Evaluate open-source intelligence estimates to support the planning cycle;
  • Incorporate cyber operations and communications security support plans into organizational objectives;
  • Identify open-source cyber intelligence gaps and shortfalls for cyber operational planning;
  • Issues requests for information;
  • Maintain situational awareness of cyber-related open-source intelligence requirements and associated tasking;
  • Maintain situational awareness of partner capabilities and activities;
  • Maintain situational awareness to determine if changes to the operating environment require review of the plan;
  • Monitor and evaluate integrated cyber operations to identify opportunities to meet organization objectives;
  • Conduct long-range, strategic planning efforts with internal and external partners in cyber activities;
  • Prepare for and provide subject matter expertise to exercises;
  • Provide input to the administrative and logistical elements of an operational support plan;
  • Recommend refinement, adaption, termination, and execution of operational plans as appropriate;
  • Submit or respond to requests for deconfliction of cyber operations; and
  • Document lessons learned that convey the results of events and/or exercises.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 (ten) years of experience working as an IT Security R&D Specialist in Intelligence.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience serving as a custodian of classified documents.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the determining the ways in which targets or threats use the internet.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in conducting research using deep web.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in encryption algorithms and cyber capabilities (e.g. SSL, PGP).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience analyzing attack methods and techniques. 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in cybersecurity and privacy principles.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in malware analysis and characteristics.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working developing leads for target development.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience researching internet applications such as, but not limited to, SMTP email, web-based email, chat clients, VOIP, etc.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in non-attribution research.
