Summary
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Senior Software Analyst to join our Integrated Training Systems Software Development team in Virginia Beach, VA. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying the Advanced Training Domain (ATD) and a shipboard combat systems that enhance mission readiness for our service members.

What you will do
- Oversee the software development lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration across configuration baselines.
- Lead Agile/Scrum development, coordinating sprint planning, execution, and reviews with internal teams and customer stakeholders.
- Manage software deliveries, working with external partners on schedules, testing, integration, and issue resolution.
- Develop software solutions, leveraging system flow analysis, data utilization, and workflow investigations.
- Track and resolve software issues, ensuring timely identification and resolution of problematic areas.
- Generate documentation for architecture, design, testing, schedules, deliveries, and status reporting.
- Support software installations and testing in laboratory and shipboard environments.
What you must have
Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree + 9 years relevant experience OR

Master’s degree + 7 years relevant experience OR
-
PhD/JD + 4 years relevant experience OR
-
Associate’s degree + 11 years relevant experience OR
-
High school diploma/equivalent + 13 years relevant experience
Technical Expertise:
-
Experience in computer systems/software development
-
Proficiency in Agile/Scrum development cycles
-
C++ on Linux platforms
-
Knowledge of version control tools (Git, Subversion) & issue tracking systems (JIRA)
-
Understanding of modeling, simulation, TCP/IP networking, and distributed simulations (preferred)
-
Experience supporting government customers in software development
Certification & Security Requirements:
-
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification required (e.g., Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP)

Must have a DoD Secret Clearance to start

U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with JIRA and Subversion highly desired
- Security+ certification preferred
- A current or active DoD Secret Security clearance.
Physical Requirements
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
