Job Description & Summary

The Role

As an Ethical Hacking Associate in the research team you’ll be working in line with industry standards in order to support our clients’ businesses. Ideally already working towards industry-recognised qualifications or having some experience delivering research and reverse engineering projects, PwC will support staff with training and revision time to enable them to progress through industry exams. Staff are required to undertake an SC level clearance and must hold a British passport for this role.

As an Ethical Hacking Research Associate you will get the opportunity to:

  • Perform technical research into vulnerabilities in common software platforms and learn how to exploit them

  • Participate in client engagements requiring the use of ethical hacking tools and techniques to expose vulnerabilities in client IT systems by legally breaking into computer systems, websites, mobile applications, wireless platforms, Operational Technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) environments

  • Receive coaching from senior colleagues through the sharing of professional and technical skills and experience

  • Conduct a variety of testing including: hardware testing, application testing (both web, mobile and native applications) and reverse engineering

  • Write risk-based reports and attend customer delivery meetings.

Essential skills and experience

  • Able to demonstrate practical skills to deliver ethical hacking services;

  • Skilled user of both Windows and Android / Linux operating systems;

  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of networking fundamentals;

  • An understanding of how key hardware components such as CPU / Memory / Storage work

  • A demonstrable understanding of at least entry level reverse engineering;

  • A willingness to embrace the need to learn new and emerging technologies;

  • Curiosity and a desire to learn and develop to become one of the best;

  • An ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills;
