About the role:
CHANEL is looking for a Security Architect to join our US Information Security Team, reporting directly to the Head of Information Security. The ideal candidate will play a leading role in the development and implementation of security architecture principles across enterprise initiatives. You will champion a Security by Design approach—ensuring security is integrated from ideation to deployment – while balancing risk and enabling our business in a service-oriented Technology department. The role requires close collaboration with application development, infrastructure, and product teams to embed security controls and align technology solutions with our evolving threat landscape. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of five(5) years of security architecture experience, including advising product and development teams on secure development practices and architectural standards.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
Through a deep understanding of the Chanel environment and technology stack, you will serve as advisor for secure-by-design frameworks within product and infrastructure development lifecycles.
Provide validation of secure solution design across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments on both local and global initiatives.
Partner with enterprise architects, software engineers, DevOps, and business stakeholders to ensure security is embedded in solution architectures from the start.
Develop and maintain security architecture blueprints, standards, ensuring consistent “shift left” approaches to enterprise product and architecture builds.
Conduct threat modeling and architecture risk assessments for new applications, integrations, and technologies.
Manage pre-launch technical assessments including penetration testing and configuration reviews and advising on third party integrations to minimize cyber risk exposure.
Align solutions with compliance frameworks (e.g., PCI-DSS, CCPA) and luxury industry best practices.
Stay ahead of emerging threats, tools, and technologies in luxury retail, eCommerce, and digital platforms.

Working in a highly collaborative environment as a courageous leader
Navigating complexity and monitoring risk on the regional and global level in close partnership with the wider Information Security team driving consistent transformation and change.
What you will bring to the team:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years in hands-on information security roles, with at least 3 years in advisory or security-by-design functions.
Advisory: Experience in design reviews to ensure that security considerations are integrated into the architecture and design of products and systems, reducing the likelihood of security flaws in the final product.
Threat Modeling: experience in helping identify how an application might be attacked and what risks need to be mitigated during development.
Vendor and Tool Management: Experience in engaging with security service providers, such as external testers.
Standards and Frameworks: Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks such as TOGAF, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, COBIT
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS 4.0 and CCPA/CPRA is preferred.
Communication Skills: Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to peers, TECH leadership, driving informed decision-making.
Passion and Industry Fit: Strong enthusiasm for information security and a keen interest in contributing to the luxury retail sector, demonstrating an understanding of its unique challenges and opportunities.
Position Logistics:
Partially Remote: Role requires a minimum of 3 days in-person office presence in the New York and/or Piscataway, New Jersey office

Compensation:
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,500-$160,000. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay [may/will] be offered for this position. Other components [may/will] include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks.
