The Opportunity

To ensure the protection of Abbott’s critical operations and support our mission at Abbott “We put the people we serve at the center of everything we do!” we are seeking an experienced leader in Manufacturing Cybersecurity that has worked for (or with) large global manufacturing organizations. This position will report to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Cybersecurity and support the people, process and technology enhancements needed for successful cybersecurity risk management within the manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the strategic planning and implementation of cybersecurity measures to safeguard vital Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure. This role requires a collaborative and purposeful approach with business, sites and other technology and cyber teams to protect operational technology, balancing the enhancement of security measures with the importance of resilience and the facilitation of digital transformation. This will require working with global manufacturing and distribution locations, with the aim of comprehensively understanding pivotal cyber processes and technologies, evaluating both emerging and current cyber tools, and creating and advocating for the adoption of robust standards and solutions to mitigate identified risks and strengthen security postures at Abbott’s sites with operational technology infrastructure such as -

  • Oversee strategic planning, implementation and enable governance of cybersecurity measures for vital Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure including conceptualize, design and build secure controls and technical solutions for securing Operational Technology including applications, systems, architectures and infrastructure in an operationally viable and efficient manner.

  • Ensure proper leveraging of security products and technologies to protect the Operational Technology systems and information, across all business and sites, enabling achievement of organization’s Manufacturing Cybersecurity goals.

  • Manage and design innovative integration of cybersecurity toolsets to enable more automation in discovery, remediation and alerting of network and device vulnerabilities for Operational Technology, as a means of improving the security posture. Oversee the analysis of emerging technologies, design and build architectures and solutions to enable secure implementation of new controls and technologies.

  • Manage a risk-based cybersecurity program which meets regulatory requirements and aligns with industry leading information security practices.

  • Advance Abbott’s cyber threat and vulnerability management programs to ensure consistent identification, analysis, response and monitoring of cyber security threats, events and vulnerabilities and deploying countermeasures in Operational Technology environments across all businesses and sites.

  • Collaborate with business units, sites, application development teams, third party vendors in Operational Technology environments to achieve Manufacturing Cybersecurity goals.

  • Facilitate cross team coordination to achieve defined security goals, meet technical requirements in support of detailed implementation plan for Manufacturing Cybersecurity projects and initiatives.

  • Enable awareness and training of Manufacturing Cybersecurity controls and standards for Abbott’s personnel in Operational Technology environments.

  • Lead Manufacturing Cybersecurity projects to ensure prompt, on budget, and effective implementation of cyber security improvements that are operationally supported with validation methods in place to measure effectiveness.

  • Establish strategies and manage the development, implementation and governance of policy and standards to protect Abbott’s Operational information and technology assets.

  • Design metrics-driven reporting of Manufacturing Cybersecurity goals aligned with Abbott’s overall strategy and goals.

  • Manage capital and operational expense budgets to ensure accurate forecasting and administration of Manufacturing Cybersecurity

  • Develop and execute strategies which develop individual team members’ skills and abilities.

Required Skills and Education

  • 10+ years of experience working in a global, manufacturing realm with responsibility for the planning & management of cybersecurity activities relating to OT (Operational Technology) / ICS (Industrial Control System) security.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information security, or related degree

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management methodologies, and industry standards such as NIST Cybersecurity Frameworks, IEC62443.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present findings to management, and liaise with external stakeholders.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • 3-5+ years of working familiarity in vulnerability and threat management cyber tools such as Armis, Splunk, and Sentinel One

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GICSP or other industry-recognized certifications are highly desirable.

The base pay for this position is

$127,300.00 – $254,700.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
