Health and Safety Manager is accountable for development, implementation, correction of processes and procedures identifying and eliminating potential hazards in the working environment across logistics operations. Plan, develop, implement, and manage various services related to Safety and security management, office premises security systems efficiently while being responsible for all types of activities of the bank as per the requirements to support smooth functioning while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and Bank’s policies. Proactive spend management, stakeholder engagement and strategy.
- Manage to develop, plan, and oversee policies for a safe, secure, and healthy work environment across all branches and offices.
- Manage to develop and implement bank-wide security strategies, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to safeguard employees, customers, assets.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal security regulations and liaise with authorities to stay up to date with changing security requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate potential threats, and improve overall security posture.
- Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of physical security systems, including access control, CCTV surveillance, alarms, and intrusion detection systems.
- Oversee Man guard Operation of all premises.
- Lead digital approaches to enhance security measures, including Face recognition authentication for access control and Car parking Management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand security needs and provide support for overseas office security requirements, ensuring consistent security standards across all locations.
- Assist Manage and negotiate contracts with security vendors, including Service Level Agreement (SLA) implementation to ensure high-quality services and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with various stake holder departments, including IT, Facilities, Business, to align security initiatives with the overall business objectives of the bank.
- Lead security-related projects, from conceptualization to completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Assist to Conduct training sessions and awareness programs to educate employees about security protocols, emergency response procedures.
- Implement incident response plans and lead investigations into security breaches, thefts, and other security-related incidents.
- Monitor security-related metrics and prepare reports for senior management, providing insights into security performance and
- Evaluate security vendor performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with SLAs
- Police approvals timely obtain for all Branches, EBSU and Office Trade License renewal, new activities.
- Mashreq Main SIRA approval and all coordination with Police for timely action
- Create and manage corporate crisis and emergency management plans for all locations.
- Direct and coordinate Mashreq's Safety & Security Day to day Operation and all stake holders.
- Ensure consistency with Mashreq's strategy and goals for premise set-up projects.
- Provide technical support and feedback for security system requirements all office including overseas.
- Assist to prepare budget of all Security system installation any office /branch project /upgradation of system.
- Coordinate with local authorities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and security procedures.
- Develop and maintain Corporate Safety, Security, and Emergency Plan manuals, monitoring system-wide compliance.
- Assist to design and manage business continuity and emergency/crisis management plans, including drills and exercises.
- Make arrangement to deliver training programs and ensure employees are aware of first Aid and fire life and safety requirements.
- Prepare the technical requirements for Security system to meet local authority regulations and Mashreq standards.
- Assist to utilize digital technology and innovative approaches to enhance physical security.
- Manage outsourced resources (3rd party vendors) through service level agreements and key performance indicators.
- Assist to Develop emergency response plans and overseeing drills and exercises and conducting safety audits and inspections of the sites.
- Implementing access control measures and monitoring access to the bank’s premises and systems.
- Conducting security audits and inspections of the bank’s operations and premises.
- Developing a security system design plan, including the selection of appropriate security technologies such as access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Developing a detailed project plan that outlines the installation process and timeline, including any necessary modifications to the bank’s premises.
- Coordinating with other stakeholders such as the bank’s IT department, facilities management, and security personnel to ensure that all requirements are met.
- Ensuring that all security system components are properly installed and configured according to the manufacturer’s specifications and industry best practices.
- To ensure that the bank has a comprehensive and effective security system that protects the bank’s operations, employees, and customers from security risks.
- Liaise, coordinate, and acquire all sort of activities/permissions with relative local authority, internal and external stakeholders, and partners across UAE (i.e., police, civil defense, Etisalat, DU, MB business unites, etc.)
- Ensure to Implement relative SOPs and ensure that the Safety and Security manual standards and measures are followed including site safety/security measures.
- Managing Risk register for ORE’s – OPEA’s ensuring the timeline is regarded.
- Ensuring timely execution on SSHR requests for access and employee ID’s
- Maintaining faultless record (reconciliation) on access control systems for resigned staffs each month by in coordination with Human resources and tenants as well
- Managing LEAN related activities well in time
- Event management complying comprehensive safety and security measures by ensuring smooth and flawless management of events, seminars, media events, press conferences, VIP visitors, executives board meetings.
- Overseeing entire schedule for required maintenance by supporting PTW’s submissions by authorized vendors.
- Developing a security system design plan, including the selection of appropriate security technologies such as access control, CCTV, and alarm systems.
- Developing a detailed project plan that outlines the installation process and timeline, including any necessary modifications to the bank’s premises.
- Conducting risk assessments and identifying potential security threats to the banks of developing and implementing security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
Operating Environment, Framework and Boundaries, Working Relationships:
- Provide assistance, implement, and monitor all new requirements from relative local authority.
- Continuous adherence and improvement of process in operational Security and Safety process innovation
- Keep close coordination with vendor project coordinators and all SIRA timely action.
- Continues evaluation of security vendors
- Coordinate with Admin team for any assistance related to Safety and Security in UAE and overseas.
- Operates in a complex environment that is characterized by services of routine nature as well as diverse. Non-routine tasks that demand quality, cost effectiveness and timeliness. These tasks are cross-functional, multi-functional and require incumbent to have in-depth knowledge and familiarity to maintain corporate standards.
- Assist in internal and external investigation cases that involves MB
- Needs to service the internal customers effectively, which requires close coordination and good relationship with all users (internal / external customers at all levels) and suppliers in order to deliver on requirement within turnaround time, quality and cost parameters.
Problem Solving:
- Negotiate with safety and security vendors/consultant to resolve all and any complaints raised by business within stipulated, reasoned and justified turnaround time.
- Ability to identify and solve product and services quality related problems.
Decision Making Authority & Responsibility:
- Utilize all available resources to ensure effective safety and security services and standard are enrolled.
- Responsible for providing appropriate solutions to the users.
- Responsible to ensure adherence to internal standards and external regulatory requirements
- Graduate with at least 10-12 years in the field of safety and security environment
- Exposure to customer related security and safety services
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills
- Formal security training from an institution imparting training in security/safety or similar training from police/armed forces.
- Working knowledge of sequential steps involved in security procedures, risk reduction, investigating techniques and report writing.
- Full knowledge of Microsoft products, PPT and MS projects
