SUMMARY:  The Global Physical Security (GPS) System Team manages physical security technology across the Corporation.  Oracle is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director Physical Security Infrastructure (Software) to lead critical infrastructure initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the design, delivery, and operational excellence of essential physical security infrastructure components. You will build and then lead a high-caliber team, ensuring the achievement of key objectives through exemplary leadership, talent development, and resource optimization. This position demands a seasoned professional who embodies Oracle values and can navigate complex challenges to deliver exceptional outcomes. The role is primarily remote but will require quarterly onsite visits to the Santa Clara Campus to visit the test lab.

 

As the Director of Physical Security Infrastructure, you will provide leadership to a dedicated team, tasked with overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure projects within Oracle. Your role will involve ensuring that the team's objectives are consistently aligned with the broader organizational goals, maintaining a strategic focus on long-term infrastructure stability and scalability. By fostering a high-performance culture, you will mentor and develop team members, creating an environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. 

 

In addition to your leadership duties, you will play a pivotal role in talent development within the team. You will lead by example in identifying and nurturing talent, engaging in regular career development discussions, and offering strategic guidance to support the professional growth of each team member. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES

  • A BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in people management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale critical service.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and performance optimization within a technology-driven environment.
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities, with experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams and partner organizations.
  • Strong background in recruiting, developing, leading managers, senior individual contributors (ICs) and building high-performing teams.
  • Ability to make decisions that significantly impact the organization’s infrastructure, with potential implications for revenue and long-term operational success.
  • Experience in Networking and Storage services.
  • Experience in managing a large-scale critical service in a Cloud computing.
  • Expertise in Distributed Systems, Kubernetes, Containers.
  • Excellent communication skills including high quality written communications and the ability to articulate complex information in a simple way that encourages collaboration.
  • Experience leading through ambiguity; proven track record of implementing solutions that improve delivery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with major cloud providers (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud). 
  • Proven ability to lead and scale teams in complex, production-critical environments. 
  • Support and oversee engagements involving datacenters security systems; ensure operational excellence and regulatory compliance. 
  • Lead post-mortem processes and drive systemic reliability improvements. 
  • Partner with engineering, product, and data teams to ensure scalable and resilient data platforms. 
  • Develop strategies for monitoring, observability, and rapid incident response
  • Define and implement SRE principles such as SLAs/SLOs, incident management, capacity planning, and reliability-focused automation.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY, IMPACT OF DECISIONS AND DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:

The qualified candidate will report directly to the Architect, Physical Security Systems who is based in Texas, USA.  This is a global role and periodic global travel will be required.  As part of the senior leadership team this appointment will recruit and manage eight physical security staff plus oversight of three contracted security systems staff within their scope of responsibility. The individual will be expected to work with the minimum amount of supervision. The level of decision making is high as will have a direct influence not only on your team but also on associated teams within GPS. The outcomes of your work will play a critical role in the success of critical infrastructure projects, contributing to the overall resilience, security and growth of Oracle.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $122,500 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
