Oracle is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director, Physical Security Products and Services to lead the development of innovative physical security products and services that leverage technology which enables the internal physical security team to balance the need for speed and repeatability, while meeting the needs of privacy, IT security, and fiscal considerations.
As a seasoned product leader, you will leverage your expertise in navigating complex risk landscapes across emerging technologies to drive the creation of scalable, robust, and technically sound solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including physical security operations, engineering, IT security, security systems installers, hardware development teams and senior leadership, to ensure seamless execution and delivery of products and services that meet regulatory requirements while pushing the boundaries of innovation. The Director, Physical Security Products & Services will be primarily responsible for:
- Product and Services Vision and Strategy: Develop and execute a product and services roadmap that incorporates cutting-edge technologies, such as AI, video analytics, physical access control systems, data analytics, and novel scaling approaches while ensuring alignment with physical security and Oracle wide organizational goals and values.
- Team Leadership: Build a small team of product managers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the successful development and launch of products and services that meet customer needs and organizational goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with engineering, physical security, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective communication, prioritize requirements, and drive product delivery.
- Privacy Governance: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and implement products that prioritize user privacy, transparency, and accountability, adhering to relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with emerging technologies, working closely with IT security, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure the development of secure and responsible products and services.
- Innovation and R&D: Stay abreast of technological advancements and market trends, exploring opportunities for innovation and experimentation while balancing business objectives with ethical considerations. Send your ideas to the GPS Test Lab to validate the design choices before automating the delivery at scale.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure products and services comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, collaborating with internal and external teams to develop and implement compliant solutions that balance innovation with risk management.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, security or related field, or relevant experience.
- 10+ years of product management, services management, or a related leadership role experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role in the technology sector.
- Strong understanding of emerging technologies, including AI, machine learning, data analytics and privacy technologies and approaches.
- Expert knowledge of privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry standards.
- Experience in navigating complex risk landscapes across emerging technologies.
- Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication, collaboration, and leadership skills with a track record of influencing stakeholders and leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to balance technical, business, and regulatory considerations.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, etc.).
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES
- Relevant certifications, such as PMP, IAPP, CISSP, etc.
- Familiarity with specific the physical security hardware and software industry, especially enterprise-scale deployed applications across diverse environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) or experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Oracle Analytics) is beneficial.
- Familiarity with assurance and compliance standards including Common Criteria & FIPS.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY, IMPACT OF DECISIONS AND DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:
The qualified candidate will report directly to the Architect, Physical Security Systems who is based in Texas, USA. This is a global role and periodic global travel will be required. As part of the senior leadership team this appointment will manage three physical security employees plus oversight of nine contracted security systems staff within their scope of responsibility with the possibility of more growth. The individual will be expected to work with the minimum amount of supervision. The level of decision making is high as it affects the direction of physical security technology across the Corporation, influencing and collaborating with executive sponsors, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams so that initiatives are aligned and progress to a satisfactory conclusion.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $139,200 to $291,800 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
