Job Description

#LI-KO1

Are you passionate about data engineering, data compliance and data governance? Would you like to help digital teams at The LEGO Group to build compliant data products by design and default?

At the LEGO group, only the best is good enough. That includes protecting our data.

This is your chance to join the Engineering competency and support the development of the Data Platform in a way that is compliant by design and default.

We will adjust the role from Associate to Senior engineer depending on your level of experience.

No relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Core Responsibilities

As our Engineer & Compliance expert in the Data Platform department, you will assess and build data platform components and future solutions to ensure they follow Data Privacy Legislation, Competition Law and other compliance requirements, both internal and external. The overall objective of the Data Platform team, which you will be a member of, is to build solutions that allow the organization to create and maintain their own data products while staying aligned with internal and external compliance and governance requirements. Your focus is on the overall standard methodologies, user-facing applications, and platform infrastructure where these data products interact. You will enable other teams in the organization by providing detailed and clear best-practices, user guides, and supporting users with hands-on development while formulating the outcomes as case studies.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with the product manager, lead engineer, and team members from multiple competencies and backgrounds. Additionally, you will also collaborate closely with the legal teams to translate legal and compliance requirements into practical solutions for engineers and users of the data platform.

Play your part in our team succeeding!

The Data Platform team looks after the Data Platform end to end, including the data catalog and end user analytical tools. As a compliance engineer, you will join in a team focused on compliance and data integrity and play an important role in ensuring we work with data effectively while still maintaining compliance working closely together with engineering colleagues, data governance, and business partners.

Do you have what it takes?

You are a collaborative person by nature and want to be a part of a diverse and global multi-functional team.

You are curious and passionate about compliance by design in software development, data privacy and handling data in a responsible manner. You want to support building value-creating and innovative solutions for the company and in collaboration with your colleagues.

You have a relevant background and/or an interest in the two following areas:

  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering or similar.
  • Law, Information Security, Highly Regulated Industries or similar.

In addition, you have experience with some of the following:

  • Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR).
  • Experience with data manipulation, privacy-enhancing techniques and data governance.
  • Knowledge of digital security principles and practices.
  • Handling data in a highly regulated industry like the financial sector, pharmaceutical industry, or similar.
  • Ability to identify and assess compliance risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to navigate complex business structures.
