Brown Advisory is currently seeking a technically adept Senior Project Manager to join our team to lead initiatives spanning information security, IT infrastructure, and software systems. This individual will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving successful outcomes.  This is not a task-tracking role. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, manages through ambiguity, and partners closely with business and technical leaders to deliver outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of delivering information security and IT projects. Drive outcomes.

  • Collaborate across Info Security, IT, Engineering, Legal, Audit, and Compliance teams.

  • Consistently deliver and manage key project artifacts and outcomes:

    • Work breakdown structure (WBS).

    • Broad stakeholder engagement and communications.

    • Appropriately detailed project plans consistent with department standards.

    • Schedules, milestones, and deliverables.

    • Issues lists and impediments.

    • Alignment with security, regulatory, and business requirements.

    • Documentation as needed to articulate process and workflow.

  • Manage project dimensions of resources, budgets, timelines, scope, and quality.

  • Set appropriate stand-up and meeting cadence to optimize teamwork and output.

  • Clear obstacles, ensure team member accountability, and effectively escalate issues.

  • Anticipate roadblocks and proactively resolve issues.

  • Govern projects in alignment with the firm’s broader project methodologies.

  • Assist with oversight of 3rd party suppliers engaged on projects.

  • Projects may include recurring efforts and one-time implementations, including driving vulnerability management, coordinating ISO 27001 recertification preparation, managing disaster recovery testing, assisting in business continuity planning, and facilitating threat modeling sessions.

  • Participate in Info Security governance activities, as time permits.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to create and deliver technical presentations to technical and non-technical staff, and communicating with executive and operational management.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a technical project manager.

  • Understanding and experience implementing using various project management methodologies, including iterative development, Agile/Scrum, and structured approaches.

  • Strong knowledge of project and collaboration tools, such as MS Project, Jira, and Asana.

  • Experience establishing, documenting and maintaining process information.

  • Gain a good understanding of the organization’s business goals and objectives.

  • Financial services / regulated environments experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Certifications

Technical or risk management combined with project management are preferred, not required:

  • PMP, ACP, CSP

  • CISA, CRISC

  • CISM, CISSP, Security+

  • A+, Network+, CCNA, Cloud+, various MTA

  • Skilled at working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

MD Salary: $140-$160k. Commensurate with experience and location. Does not include bonus or long term incentive eligibility (if applicable).
