About the Position
The Senior Director, Digital Emerging Solutions & Transformation will report directly to the Chief Digital & Information Officer and is part of the Ameren Leadership Team. The role is responsible for creating and implementing a Digital technology future state vision and strategy in partnership with Digital Leadership Team peers. The leader will utilize their extensive technology experience to review Ameren’s enterprise technology landscape to formulate a modern technology vision that drives simplification and standardization of our technology ecosystem to reduce technology risk, complexity, and debt while creating room for further business capability building and innovation. This leader will lead teams of architects to partner with Digital product and vertical owners to ideate, plan, design and implement standardized technology solutions that meet measurable objectives including riving the wider strategic digital transformation initiatives. This leader will foster a culture of innovation and continuous delivery to meet and exceed the expectations of Ameren leaders and customers. The Senior Director, Digital Emerging Solutions & Transformation will also be responsible for managing strategic shared services teams that will drive adoption of technology best practices across the enterprise in areas such as cloud engineering, DevSecOps, AI engineering, data base, integration, and quality management. This lead will keep a constant view of technology and industry trends to inform ongoing updates of Digital strategies and approaches and adoption of leading technologies that will benefits Ameren business strategy, customers, and co-workers.
This role is located at Ameren's corporate headquarters in downtown St. Louis, MO.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborate with key Digital and business stakeholders and work closely with their teams to define, evaluate, prioritize, and execute key priorities and assess the value delivered
Lead teams that drive and participate in various key initiatives and technologies supporting Ameren Digital Strategy and associated demand roadmaps, initiatives communications, and interactions
Help assess and transform the current legacy technology blueprint of obsolete and aging legacy technology systems, processes and capabilities across the segments
Collaborate with the business segments, technology teams and third-party partners to help drive innovation and define how best to leverage IT/OT technology to enhance the customer and employee experiences while increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of technology solutions
Ideate and closely partner across Digital and with the business and enterprise technology teams to leverage emerging technology around Analytics, AI and Automation to help drive efficiencies at scale
Build and transform the team with a strong culture of innovation, execution and alignment to business outcomes while driving an agile approach, while evangelizing to broader Digital and enterprise communities
Understand the Ameren corporate strategy implications to Ameren Digital Strategy and identify opportunities to drive new initiatives to enable business success
Develop and promote the enterprise architecture principles, designs, and services to all Business stakeholders (including other Digital leaders) across Ameren
Develop and collaborate on Digital Strategy and architecture vision, including developing and managing technology roadmaps and metrics to achieve the strategy.
Deploy architects to various transformational initiatives to help define the future state business architecture and operating model, lead the process for identification and selection of technologies, and then guide the implementation and run state of solution.
Ensure the creation of technical standards, roadmaps and reference architectures and align the organization behind them.
Define the vision and strategies of the technical integration architecture, establishing the goals and connecting stakeholder needs to the program objectives and priorities.
Champion the application rationalization and version currency efforts in alignment with business goals and create awareness about associated high support costs and risks to business continuity, including facilitating the review of technology request for new software requests and renewals of existing software titles.
Direct and lead teams of resources in planning, executing, and implementing shared services roles (e.g. cloud provisioning, database, integration, and testing) in application software projects delivering requested business capabilities and value, while meeting or exceeding project metrics including budget, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction goals
Create and execute a data and database strategy for Digital systems and systems that leverage Ameren data in partnership with key stakeholders
Develop managed service partnerships (MSPs) in key areas of portfolio to scale and deliver development and sustainment of Digital initiatives efficiently and effectively
Design and develop an enterprise technology integration strategy to simplify the enterprise integration architecture to drive greater resiliency, reliability, security, and efficiency
Participate as necessary in various areas of the project including solution definition, production selection, vendor negotiations, customer/stakeholder communications, etc.
Manage key program / projects outcomes, operational excellence of our systems & processes and budgets
Direct and lead in the development of standard processes and procedures with peers to ensure compliance to Cyber Security, SOX, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and compliance with other corporate policies
Drive the right level of strategic planning, operational execution discipline and governance across the team
Collaborate and support teams driving the Digital technology roadmaps, demand and long-term planning, initiatives
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
Master's Degree preferred.
15 or more years in progressive IT related roles and responsibilities required.
10 or more years of supervisory and high-level team/project leadership required.
Strong application development experience and systems support background required.
Certification where appropriate and/or essential for stated solution areas preferred.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
Compensation Range:
$197,500.00 - $316,000.00At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance. Director and above positions also include a Long-Term Incentive Plan and the option to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.
