Staff Security Engineer

About the Team

The application security team at Miro is responsible for ensuring that security is embedded at every stage of the software development lifecycle, from initial design reviews through to security testing. In addition, this team is  responsible for or involved with initiatives like security awareness, security champions, vulnerability management and management of our bug bounty program, all of which contribute to maintaining the high levels of security that we aim to achieve here at Miro.

About the Role

Miro is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join their Amsterdam-based application security team. This role will spearhead internal security initiatives and accelerate the integration of security early in the development lifecycle ("shifting security left"), leveraging expertise in JVM-based languages. The primary responsibilities include performing secure architecture reviews, enhancing security within the CI/CD pipeline, vulnerability management, and promoting security awareness. Prior experience in penetration testing is a plus.

What you’ll do

• Lead security initiatives that relate to software engineering
• Take our security tooling in our CI/CD pipelines to the next level of maturity
• Play a part in scaling our vulnerability management program
• Develop automation which reduces toil in operational tasks
• Be an SME for security with our engineering teams and coaching them in embedding security principles into the design of our products

What you’ll need

• Software engineering experience, primarily in Java or Kotlin
• Strong security experience in Web Application and API security
• Experience with microservices, API gateway, service mesh architecture security
• Experience in SDLC, Appsec and vulnerability management at scale
• Experience in AWS
• Experience working in a highly diverse, multicultural and distributed organization. 
• Ability to gain trust and set up good relationships with different stakeholders.

The reasonably estimated salary range is specific to New York / San Francisco / Los Angeles and may not be applicable to other locations. The range for this role is $00.000 to $000.000. Final compensation and total package components will be based on individual factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
