Location:                    Toronto, Yonge & Eglinton (Hybrid Work: 3 days in office)

TVO is an agency of the Ontario Ministry of Education. Through our brands, TVO Kids, TVO Today, TVO ILC and TVO Learn, we provide multi-platform educational programming; ground-breaking original documentaries; in-depth public affairs content; the largest online secondary school in Ontario; and award-winning digital-learning resources that support Ontario’s curriculum.

The Opportunity

The Information Security Analyst will be part of the technology team that ensures TVO’s proprietary and sensitive information is secure and digital assets protected from unauthorized access. They will also educate and help employees gain safe access to technology resources and information while maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

As an Information Security Analyst, you will help build, secure, deploy and maintain internal policies, procedures, systems, and related tools in order to continuously improve TVO’s security posture.

How you will make an impact: 

• Assist in development and implementation of company-wide best policies and practices for IT security
• Collaborate with external vendors on implementation projects, internal and external vulnerability and penetration testing and remediation
• Stay up to date on information technology trends and security standards
• Respond to network security event and incident escalations from the first-level support and users
• Execute investigative work regarding potential security threats and implement remedies as needed
• Monitor different IT on-prem and cloud systems for signs of suspicious activity
• Participate in design and implementation of the organization wide Security Awareness program
• Document and educate staff by implementing customized campaigns to build a culture of security awareness
• Active involvement with cloud security design, improvement and implementation
• Manage automated vulnerability scanning tools and run against all on-premises and cloud-based systems and applications
• Work closely with the infrastructure team on security implementations and improvements
• Provide and enforce security measures for technology implementation teams
• Other IT Security/Networking duties as required

What you will bring to TVO:

• 5+ years of experience working in IT, 3+ years in IT Security
• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Experience with security, compliance, and privacy frameworks
• Microsoft SC-200 certification is a benefit
• Networking and Endpoint experience (firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, encryption and IDPS concepts)
• Understanding of device, patch, and security management
• Willingness to take initiative, and to work effectively with employees at all levels in the company
• Self-motivated and detail oriented; able to multi-task, prioritize, and resolve multiple inquiries at once
• Possess good writing and communication skills to effectively develop policies, and procedures, reports and documentation
• Exposure to cloud technologies; AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Security Certifications are a plus
