Responsibilities

Technica is seeking a System Administrator, Staff at CAOC-X on Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. As a System Administrator, Staff you will maintain the AOC Weapon System’s critical infrastructure and support various customer events, including but not limited to tests and evaluations, experimentation, operational and technical assessments, engineering spirals, exercises and training, innovation activities, cyber events, and demonstrations. This is not a help desk/call center position. Daily responsibilities include Windows Server Administration, Linux Server Administration, Active Directory, SolarWinds, Splunk, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Linux, Windows, Database Management, and Core Services for the experimental leg of the AOC Weapon System. You will collaborate closely with System Engineers, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Cyber Security Engineers to support the needs of the Weapon System. CAOC-X is a highly versatile, fast-paced, and ever-changing experimental environment supporting the AOC Weapon System.

  • Responsible for administering Windows and Linux-based servers, virtualized, physical, and container-based systems, as well as Core Services. This includes managing user accounts, passwords, permissions, access control lists, and other related services.
  • Provide installation and configuration of physical and virtualized systems and server
  • Provide system administration expertise for events and other activities
  • Perform client systems administration duties as required
  • Oversee the maintenance of virtual environments, servers, and clients, ensuring seamless functionality of all internal and external connectivity
  • Monitor servers for acceptable performance and user accessibility
  • Establish backups and monitors site security
  • Responsible for configuration management and the documentation of system configuration and topologies
  • Responsible for system hardening on all customer equipment in accordance with DISA, JTF-GNO, and SPO requirements

Requirements

 

  • Active Top Secret Clearance (candidates may start with a Secret Clearance and will undergo investigation for TS/SCI)
  • Bachelors degree in IT or relevant field and 2 years of experience, or High School degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 4 years of experience providing operational support, including the maintenance of Windows and Linux systems in both physical and virtualized environments.
  • Significant experience with: Windows OS and/or Linux OS
  • Understanding of General System Interoperability in a LAN/WAN Environment
  • Security + or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification is required
  • Other duties as assigned

Certifications

  • DoD 8140.01 Compliant:  IAT II (CompTia Security +)
