This position is located in on-site in Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO and supports Sentinel program.
What You’ll Get To Do:
The selected engineer will be responsible for multiple tasks within the Command and Control Software Team. The engineer will be responsible for designing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining cybersecurity software.
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- Administering systems based on Linux and Windows operating systems
- Automating system deployment, operation and maintenance using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration Management (CM) tooling
- Work with microservices and distributed application architecture, such as containers, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology
- Implement clean and maintainable infrastructure-as-code that adheres to industry best practices
- Automate cloud native technologies in air-gapped environments, deploy applications, and provision critical infrastructure
- Design and implement security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and encryption
- Implement and maintain security policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations
- Provide technical guidance and training to other team members and stakeholders

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g, Security+, etc.)
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
- 1+ years experience with network design, virtual environments, and cyber systems design.
Cyber Software Engineer (T02): Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 2 years of related experience; 0 years with a Masters. Additional 4yrs of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
Principal Cyber Software Engineer (T03): Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 5 years of related experience; 3 years with a Masters or 1 year with PhD. An additional 4yrs of experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Experience engineering ACAS, NESSUS, SPLUNK, McAfee / Trellix, VMWare, or MECM
- Current in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance; US Citizenship is required
- Experience with network design, virtual environments, and cyber systems design is preferred.
- Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) Tools such as: Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Packer, GitLab, etc. (air-gapped implementations)
- Experience with SIEM/SOAR tools such as Splunk, Elastic, CrowdStrike, Carbon Black, or Swimlane
- Experience with Microsoft Server, Windows domain architectures, Windows Active Directory, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems, Red Hat Linux Operating System experience and/or certification for current versions
