Security Architect

Job Title

Summary of the role

As a Security Architect, you will bring deep expertise across both application and information security domains. You will be responsible for defining, evaluating, and promoting security policies and controls that span the full technology stack—from secure application development practices to robust network security architectures.

In this role, you will:

• Collaborate independently with Architecture, CISO, R&D, and Security teams to:

• Establish and maintain standards for secure application and network design.

• Review and approve application security controls and network security architectures.

• Ensure alignment with enterprise security strategy and compliance requirements.

• Provide expert guidance on threat modeling, secure coding, and network segmentation.

• Work with the Architecture, R&D and Security groups to establish secure designs for products and networks. Evaluate existing and proposed designs for security and privacy concerns.

• Promote security awareness and responsible user behavior.

• Work with the CISO Office on security topics and incident response

• Participate in transversal architecture reviews for multiple groups to provide security guidance and viewpoint and ensure alignment with security policies and guidance.

• Mentor and train less experienced team members in security patterns, Amadeus Security Policy, and security controls

• Require communication skills to influence both internally and externally

• Strong technical/functional/business/ commercial awareness

• Follows the latest trends and developments in own field and adapts these in own job/organization

About the ideal candidate

• Strong understanding of security frameworks, risk management, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to embed security by design

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent

• 5-8 years of experience or equivalent knowledge in a penetration testing, architecture, or application / network security role.

• Knowledge of:

  • Oauth 2.0/OpenID connect;

  • public cloud security mechanisms such as identity systems, secret storage, WAF, and others;

  • OWASP;

  • Microsoft Azure;

  • Networking;

• Understanding of protocols and standards like TLS, IPsec, and Zero Trust principle;

• Knowledge/Experience with:

  • Web technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, HTTP, REST, SOAP, etc.);

  • Containerization solutions, such as Kubernetes and Docker;

  •  Compliance frameworks: ISO, PCI-DSS, SSAE16, and NIST;

• Communications:

  • Strong written communication

  • Presenting in front of an audience

  • explaining technical topics in simple terms

  • Keeping calm in the face of conflict;

• Proficiency in firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and segmentation strategies; Familiarity with public cloud network security (e.g., WAFs, identity systems, secret storage);

• Comfort with security policy in highly managed corporate environments;

• Experience in threat modeling sessions is a plus, understanding of threat modeling is essential;

• Penetration testing experience is a plus;

• Background in software development is a plus;

• Tools: BurpSuite/Zap, Metasploit

• Industry Certifications (nice to haves): C|EH, GCIH, CISSP, OSCP

• Languages: Python, C#, Java, C++, SQL, APEX, JavaScript, Can Diagram using UML
