Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Principal Cloud Security Developer be part of making this/that happen.
The Principal Cloud Security Developer will contribute to our Product Security Engineering department by leading initiatives that enhance the protection and detection capabilities of Arctic Wolf’s cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and operational excellence across AWS (and soon Azure and GCP).
As a Principal Cloud Security Developer, you’ll be the brains and backbone of our Cloud Security efforts—focused on safeguarding Arctic Wolf’s infrastructure through a mix of hands-on technical work and high-level strategy. You'll champion improvements to cloud protection and detection capabilities by defining, deploying, and managing services like GuardDuty, Security Hub, Inspector, and Kubernetes security tooling.
Your expertise will directly influence access controls, least-privilege models, and the implementation of just-in-time access across our environments, particularly within AWS IAM. You’ll serve as a trusted SME, partnering with teams across the organization to diagnose, remediate, and prevent security incidents—all while driving automation, reducing toil, and pushing boundaries in cloud security practices.
In your first six months, you might:
Deploy and operationalize new AWS security services using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Improve automation of security reporting and remediation
Act as SME for infrastructure security incidents, leading RCA efforts
Advance access control automation using tools like Lambda, CloudTrail Lake, and custom scripts
Lead domain-specific security improvements (e.g., containers, Lambda, APIs)
Your responsibilities:
Own strategic security challenges across infrastructure and product landscapes
Define and maintain a scalable, automated security toolset
Drive security observability and monitoring capabilities
Support remediation and secure design initiatives across teams
Build automation to reduce manual effort and improve consistency
Set direction for cloud security data collection, visualization, and risk reduction
Technical Skills:
Deep experience in AWS security tooling (GuardDuty, IAM, CloudTrail, etc.)
Proficient in IaC (CloudFormation, Terraform) and programming (Python, Go)
Hands-on with CI/CD and automation of security integrations
Familiarity with Lambda, KMS, ACM, CloudWatch, and related services

Strategic thinker comfortable in ambiguity, able to drive vision to execution
Experienced in production-grade services and cloud security operations
Bonus if you have:
Multi-region/multi-cloud battle scars
Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Big Data or pipeline experience
Networking/security protocol knowledge (e.g., DNS)
Tech Stack You’ll Touch:
AWS (Security Hub, GuardDuty, Lambda, EKS, Terraform), Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, Prometheus, Go, Python, GitHub Actions, Harness, Azure, GCP.
