As an Analyst – Digital Investment Strategy in our Digital Strategic Planning team, you’ll work at the intersection of people, process, and technology to uncover insights, solve complex problems, and drive meaningful change and help contribute to the development of our long-term digital investment roadmap.
Reporting to the Lead, the Analyst will work collaboratively with a diverse group of professional and operational staff, contributing to strategic initiatives and operational improvements to help contribute to the development of our long-term digital investment roadmap. You will achieve this by applying best practices in analytics, investment logic mapping and portfolio design that align with Urban Utilities' objectives and business requirements. You will support continuous improvement in analytical methods, and stakeholder engagement.
Success in this role will be measured by the accuracy and relevance of analytical insights provided, and the overall contribution to the organisational success of Urban Utilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development of our 5 year and 10 year rolling digital investment and transformation program.
Contributing to ‘pre-project’ phases of large and complex digital investments programs through leading initiatives and analyses
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of our investment tools, templates and processes.
Contributing to engagements with business stakeholders, including executive and senior leadership.

About you:

A foundational grasp of digital transformation and tech-driven business improvement
Basic analytical skills for research, data interpretation, and cost-benefit analysis
Exposure to business case development, project scoping, or portfolio investment planning
Eagerness to learn digital frameworks, enterprise systems, and emerging tech
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to support stakeholder engagement and change management efforts
A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from others
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Microsoft Foundations, ITIL) are a plus
Experience supporting IT or digital analysis is desirable
Performance of ‘on call’ duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position. The days, times, duration and frequency of on call arrangements may be subject to change, including at short notice, as required by Urban Utilities’ operational needs as applying from time to time. At all times whilst on-call, you must be fit for duty, contactable, and able to respond, including the ability to physically attend if required, to the operational needs of the business within a reasonable timeframe and in a safe manner.
