Job Summary

The Associate Director of Security Architecture will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness of the Security Architecture team. This role will head our Security Architecture efforts, focusing on delivering high quality security architecture services, and cross functional partnering & engagement. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity architecture, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to lead highly technical security teams. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Security Strategy working with the Cybersecurity Leadership Team to accomplish security architecture goals that align with business objectives and risk tolerance.
  • Directly lead the Security Architecture team and collaborate with other technical and non-technical teams to implement and maintain secure digital architectures.
  • Develop and maintain Enterprise and OT security architecture frameworks, ensuring security, scalability, and resilience.
  • Produce high-level security architecture deliverables such as publishing security reference architectures.
  • Own, lead, and improve security architecture programs such as Architectural Review Boards, Threat Modeling as a Service, Security Requirement Development, Reference Architecture Development, etc.
  • Own, evaluate, and improve team mission, programs of responsibility, and operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal and external partners in advocating for secure infrastructures.
  • Prioritize digital risk to enable the organization to address risk in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Lead the development and implementation of security architecture standards and guidelines to ensure consistent and robust security practices across the organization.
  • Drive the adoption of emerging security technologies and methodologies to enhance the organization's security posture.
  • Evaluate the risk associate with emerging enterprise technologies, develop risk mitigation strategies and recommend security best practices.

Basic Qualifications

  • University Degree with 10+ years experience in cybersecurity, information technology, software development and/or engineering, OR Advanced Degree with 6+ years experience in information technology, cybersecurity, software development and/or engineering, OR Highschool diploma / GED with 10+ years of relevant military cybersecurity training & leadership experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years expertise in multiple security engineering domains such as Cloud, Endpoint, Email, Compute, Configuration Management, Data, Network, Application, Logging/Monitoring, etc.
  • 6+ years experience leading technical teams.
  • 4+ years experience with vendor management, technology/tools evaluations, and cost optimization strategies. 
  • 4+ years in Agile framework and project management, and/or continuous improvement methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong cybersecurity leadership with experience leading global, multi-cultural teams.
  • Demonstrable experience driving strategic cybersecurity change.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Industry recognized cybersecurity certifications such as: CISSP, Security+, SANS GIAC certifications, etc
